Was Tony in a “safe” room? Or might he meet the same fate as others?

Tony has always been one of my favorites!

I’m pretty sure that Tony is in a safe room and I believe that is where they took Henderson. Not good for those two to be in the same room…Yeah, Tony is one of my favorite’s, too:yup:

I was wondering that too.

Did anyone love the part where Jack shot the lady in the leg to get Christopher to talk? He is full of surprises.

I’d a smacked my husband upside the head if Jack shot me and my husband still refused to talk. Maybe that’s why I remain husbandless! 😃

I could not believe it when I saw that Edgar would be the one to go. I also agree that if I were Henderson’s wife (even the First Lady too with Logan stuff), I would back slap him! How dare he!!!???

Lynn is going to be in BIG trouble over this one because he did not notify CTU sooner about his ID badge being stolen. Duh!!! But then again if this were a gov’t agency shouldn’t they rely on fingerprints/eyescans instead of key cards?

exactly my thoughts…and the id card was changed??? Hollywood…not too realistic
But it is all great fun to watch.

I know there will be many Jack fans out there that will hate to hear this but …Jack really needs to see a dentist to whiten his teeth and have some corrective work done…maybe he’d smile a little more if he did…talk about Hollywood…Jack’s teeth just don’t fit the bill.

There’s no time in Jack’s busy day. Rumor has it he had a dentist appointment but had to cancel at the last minute as “something urgent came up”.

Jack in a dentist’s chair? That would be a very vulnerable position; esp. w/ dentist/hygenist w/ tools.

I figure CTU has a dentist on site. I mean they have doctors and medics. Why not dentists? (Or at least they did have doctors. Who knows after Monday?) But anyways, they could just strap the victims —I mean patients— in that same chair that they use to torture people. It looks like a dentist chair.

I was talking to someone and we decided that it must be a nightmare to work in CTU’s human resources department.

Trying to keep track of all the employees who get fired, rehired, and killed in the same day must be a paperwork nightmare. And the workman’s comp forms for the employees who are tortured, shot, stabbed, gassed, and blown-up on the job must be horrendous.

But Edgar!!!:crying: The look on Chloe’s face was something else.

Actually I’m confused. What were the terrorists going to do with Lynn’s keycard if the attack on the motorcade had succeeded? Would they have still gone through with the plan at CTU? CTU doesn’t seem to be a big enough target. How many canisters were used?

If, or when, I get hired at CTU I will wear a minors helmet w/ a light. I will have such eyestrain the first week due to the darkness of the place. I thought maybe Edgar would somehow make it but I just read an article at Luciannes and a producer/director says it had to be realistic and losing Edgar made it so. Edgar Stiles RIP

poor Edgar…I liked him…

Wonder how long Jack will be able to hold his breath in next episode :hmmm:

I understand setting up the drama of it all, but Edgar almost got what was coming to him by ignoring the warning about something fishy in the ventilation system room.

A couple of weeks ago, the guy who wanted Jack to help him escape the terrorists said something about Walt Cummings not being the only person in the government cooperating with the terrorists. I have been suspecting Mike also, but last week he seemed sympathetic. Will it turn out that the VP is actually the wiser of men?

Who is still alive at CTU? Is Lynn in a safe room or no?

We’ve gone through 12 hours and it seems like we are just getting started with an almost entirely new scenario after the attack on CTU.

And why, other than the necessary drama, are people stupid enough to think that if they cooperate with terrorists they will live?

How the hell did Logan get elected? Such a dope.

I am so sad about Edgar Stiles!!! One of my favorite characters. What is Chloe going to do without him?

A few insights:
  1. I think it was out of character for Edgar to ignore that woman’s warning. Especially since (in 24 time) only an hour or so had passed since Lynn did the same exact darn thing … and we all (including Edgar) saw how stupid Lynn was to ignore the chatter that Edgar himself discovered.
  2. I’m almost certain the VP is the other insider. I never suspected Mike. He’s a red herring. (Mmmm …(voice like Homer Simpson) … herring …)
  3. How in the world did Lynn’s crackhead sister’s crackhead boyfriend get a hold of the terrorists to let him know he’s got the key card? Unless he was in on it from the beginning (which really doesn’t make much sense, does it?), there’s no way he would have known a) that the terrorists needed the keycard or b) how to even contact them in the first place.
I hope somebody w/ a clearer memory of the past 11 or 12 hours can help me understand why my insights might be a little wrong. Because up until this last episode, the show (the whole series) has been pretty darn air-tight when it comes to plot.

One more thing: Given the nature of the work they do at CTU, don’t you think they would have already considered the possibility of such a scenario & security breech taking place … and had an emergency backup plan already mapped out and ready to be implemented in the blink of an eye, rather than being caught off-guard and having to ask Chloe to quick check which rooms at CTU are “safe!”??? It’s their job NOT to be caught off-guard.

Don’t you think?

Haven’t caught up yet…still have the show on tape…I’ll keep an eye out for that though…whether or nto it was out of character for Edgar.

I’m drawing a blank on who the VP is…what’s his name? When have we seen him? I’m not seeing him on their website. What’s he look like?

I’ve suspected since we first saw those two that he was sent to her by the terrorists all along to be in the right place at the right time. I’m sure they have a list of who’s who over at CTU…and that they’ve searched the list of loved ones for each person to find their vulnerabilities.

I was more disappointed Lynn had such a vulnerability, though. I didn’t think it was in character for him to leave his post at such a crucial point in time to give his sister a business card for a shrink.

These terrorists have their bases covered over a long range of possible scenarios. I mean, geez, the way they took out the inside guy who had reprogrammed the canisters was evidence of that. In 12 hours we’ve gone from the assassination of president Palmer, setting up Bauer for those, a presidential press moment, a visit from the Russian president, hostage situation at Ontario airport, release of toxic gas in a shopping mall, an attack on the motorcade and now an attack on CTU.

You’ve gotta figure the terrorists have much more planned ahead with a range of possible backup plans. It doesn’t seem such a stretch to think this crackhead really isn’t a crackhead but a terrorist in disguise. The entire purpose was to draw Lynn out with his wallet so that the crackhead dude could get what he really needed all along.
I hope somebody w/ a clearer memory of the past 11 or 12 hours can help me understand why my insights might be a little wrong. Because up until this last episode, the show (the whole series) has been pretty darn air-tight when it comes to plot.
Man, I’m so looking forward to catching up so I can see what you’re referring to…maybe I can help later.

Isn’t this the second time CTU was blown apart? I could have sworn they had to relocate about two seasons ago…

Was I the only one who saw the eye daggers Jack sent to his daughter’s boyfriend? :bigyikes: …that guy is marked…

If I were a guy…I’d think twice about dating Jacks daughter and upsetting her in any way

I thought the same thing. but, then, they take a lot of artistic license and do dumb things which don’t make sense in order to move the plotline along. Of course, one of the things which I like about this show is that is does reflect a very genuine human tension and response in many situations.

I also missed the first part of this week’s double episode, but from what I gathered in the brief bits of higlights they show at the beginning of each show, he was in on some sort of scheme to get Lynn’s wallet which was supposed to net them 20 grand. Now how in the world the terrorists or whoever his contact was knew to get in touch with him when Lynn only came on to CTU a couple of hours previously, well there’s more artistic licence.

That would mess with the drama of the show. If you want to go along for the great ride, you have to let them have a little extra leash to make it work.

Yeah but that guy has some balls of steel to tell Jack off the way he did about how everything is all about what Jack thinks is right.
