This evening Bernardin Cardinal Gantin died. (May he rest in peace.)

This follows the death of Alfonso Cardinal López Trujillo less than a month ago. Tarcisio Cardinal Bertone, S.D.B. was just named last weekend to replace him as Cardinal-Bishop of Frascati.

Wow! He was one of those who was considered papable, along with Ratzinger and Arinze.
 
Cardinal-Bishops are usually current or past very close advisors of the Pope.
