Oh please…you are in denial of your own church. Protestant churches have the HIGHER molestation rates than the Catholic church. What do you say about that? Why be in denial about your own church?
Perhaps in their denomination that is not the case.
I think the call to remember the children is fitting at this juncture of the thread.

It is all about molesting kids in their denomination but no one wants to talk about that. No, they just want to say it’s a Catholic thing when it isn’t. that’s all.
It is disgusting when anyone is involved but they won’t admit it is in their churches.

What is reen12’s religious background?

No, it’s actually about Christ’s innocent children, trusting in a man or woman of God, who is betrayed and abused in the most profound, dehumanising and sickening manner. It is all the worse that this abuse is caused by a shepherd of the church.

For you, it seems to be a competition to see who carries out the most abuse.

Until the catholic church can put it’s own house in order, catholics can not throw stones at any other denomination.

Catholics would be better served praying for the victims, all victims in whatever church, and atoning for the sinfullness of their own priests and nuns.

Agreed, but then why was it so hard for you to see this when you went on and on about abuse in the CC in a thread you opened?

Because this was a MASSIVE obstacle to me in even contemplating finding out more about the catholic church. I had to ask quesitons, explore, and so on … thanks to some fantastic posters here I think Ive got a balance I can now work with. The issues have not gone away for me with how the Bishops dealt with it all, and having studied some reports the church itself sponsored, it’s impossible to understand some of their actions other than in the framework of pure evil.

But it’s no longer an obstacle to me finding out more about the catholic church.

It still stomach turning to see a catholic belittle the suffering of every individual child in order to score points over ‘‘protestants’’.

Where is the charity and humanity.

I have much to resolve, but at least I’m no longher blocked by the issue in the catholic church and starting RCIA very soon.

** In Maryland, a former Episcopal priest was convicted of molesting a 14 year old boy.
In New Jersey, an Orthodox Rabbi went on trial for groping two teenage girls. In South Carolina, a Baptist Minister hs begun a 60 year sentence for molesting 23 children.
As my Catholic church faces this scandal over abuses by priests in Boston and around the country, we Catholics cite cases of misconduct by clergy of other religions, and we ask ourselves: Does the Catholic church really have a bigger problem with sexual abuse? Or are the public and the media just more fascinated by stories involving priests?
So sir, is this enough for you because the list goes on and on.**
Sexual abuse case are big news if it a Cathloic priest but if itis another faith you do not heard much about it.

I should have also added in my respose to you, I was trying to understand the possition of the bishops and the church, and trying to understand the catholic churchs issue on scandal. Although Ive read reports and responses and attempted justifications, there arte still people in the church that should be in jail, period.

However, as I said, thanks too some very brillant people here on CAF, and an even more brillant monk I met, I can attempt to see beyond the individuals actions and try on focus on what the catholic church really is and if I want to be, am called to be, there.

That was the purpose of my thread. This thread does not seem to have a purpose other than to declare that some protestant somewhe is ‘‘alleged’’ to have been sexually inappropriate with an adult female 🤷

As I said, my dog eats bones 🤷

sick people are everywhere
Indeed - and when you have the flu, you dont point fingers at someone else and scream hahahahaha they have pneumonia !!!

Catholics would be well served to ask forgiveness for the evil that was done by their shepherds, pray for their forgivenes and do something to make amends that will directly help victims of abuse - not point fingers at others.

If you tout yourself as the one true church founded by Christ, and highlight everyone else is in error - you really need to make darn sure you got your own house in order before telling others how to run theirs.

I don’t think most people on this forum say it is only a Catholic thing. Not that I see anyway. I really think it is just going to take time and for adults to guard their kids from situations with adults alone…and that goes in a number of circumstances

There is no competition here, just facts about your own Protestant denomination and how you cannot come to see the abuses in your own churches, and you cannot face the fact, and FACT it be that there are MORE molestation in your church than in mine. If people like yourself look to your own churches, you wouldn’t be here knocking the Catholic church. And I made it pretty clear that Protestant ministers abuse children NOT adult woman. there are instances that Protestant ministers have done so, even with boys, but my main objection is to show you and your Protestant brothers and sisters that it happens MORE in your church than mine. Case closed.
And since when are any nuns mentioned here? It’s hard to realize this truth for you isn’t it.

I’d say you need to look in the mirror with your last sentence… Reap what you sow.

No one here is aiming to score points and you know it. You can dish it out but you can’t take it…

I dont belong to any church. Im not even baptised yet.

You can be sure of one thing though - your posts, with their insults, total lack of respect for other faiths, severe shortcomings in knowledge and logic, and misplaced arrogance are single handedly disuading many non catholics from ever coming near the catholic church.

You would do well to remember that when you post in the non catholic forum.

Have you considered the possibily that he might be a plant from…we will say a competing church…with the exact objective you had in mind (see bold)?

No, you are wrong. You try to manipulate others here but I am on to you. You can’t even answer my questions without an insult…if others were to join the Catholic church, it would be because of Jesus Christ who founded that church, not because of me or anyone else on here.
