well when you all live in the same house and practice a religion that has been proven to teach that this is okay I think it’s different. there are no innocent adults here they were all complicit in this process. besides you don’t have to have proof to investigate just probable cause. they had that. no one got removed until they found evidence. compelling evidence!

If there is abuse in the family then the children should be removed. But in this case all children were removed without proof of abuse. That is the problem. The innocent and the guilty were lumped together in one big swoop. If you were innocent of abuse and your children were taken from you, you just may be a little angry.

Fact: children were removed from the birth mother to be raised by the group so that there would not be too strong a bond between them. That is just as bad.

Fact: Boys were kicked out before they could compete with the old perverts for women. That is just as bad.

Fact: There was a bed in the temple so the old perverts could get with the consumating. That was just as bad.

Fact: Girls UNDER the legal age for marrage were married off to old perverts. THAT IS ABUSE.

Now, you can say that they should have been left alone, or that only the abused ones should have been removed. Guess what? The whole dang place was full of two types of people: abusors and those who were abused. No one was not touched by this. Besides, do you think that they would allow access and open communication? No.

Any of the men who were NOT guilty of marrying an underage gilr STILL knew it was going on and did nothing to stop it. Silence in concent!!

Please answer these two questions for me.

First, knowing that the group would have blocked or stone-walled any investigation, probably going so far as to leave the country, how do you think they should have handled it?

Second, many have accused you of being unfair in your support of any Mormon group. Now, lots of other Mormons are against the FLDS and feel that the police were within their rights. If this was not a Mormon off-shoot, do you really think that you would be so against the police?

Last night on tv was a show with women who escaped that compound. they spend thier lives helping others who left. It was very disturbing hearing them tell thier story of being married off against thier will then expected to perform thier wifely duties when they have never before been alone with a man. Also they have a seperate cematary for babies and in the past two months over 100 graves were added. Oddly some of the graves were dug up. There are people who go in regularily to keep tabs on it since death records are sealed for fifty years. I just pray for these people!

It has been determined that it was a prank call by a woman, She has been identified. I am sure that I am correct in this.

I believe that woman has been listed as “a person of interest”. That does not mean she did it, nor does it prove that it was a prank. It merely means they are investigating her.

Unless I’m mistaken, that means that it has not proven that 1. she did it. or 2. It was a prank.

IBKC, They did not say the cause of the deaths. They said they had a seperate graveyard becuase some people had family outside and came to the funerals, they did not want to arouse any suspicion. People are keeping track of the cemetary becuase the death records are closed. The graveyard was shown in the documentary. It was a very sinester documentary.

I just don’t think you get it.

This is/was a closed community. In order to protect *any *child, they have to protect all of the children.

Let’s look at this on a smaller scale.

If Child Protective Services gets a call that they believe to be valid about abuse at the Smith residence. The Smiths have 3 children. The call says that they are beating the youngest child. They will go in, and make an inital assessment, and if it appears there is reason to suspect abuse or neglect, they will remove all of the children in the household. It is their responsibilty to protect all of the children in the household, not just the one that was centered in the report.

Child Protective Services has reported that it’s also investigating possible abuse of the boys.

That’s the point Why_Me. This isn’t about polygamy. This isn’t about whether or not these people follow a dead, lecherous con-man. It’s about child abuse: sexual, physical and emotional. When abuse is suspected or proven, the authorities are legally and morally obligated to remove all of the childer from allegedly abusive environment.
