I have said it is for ordinary believers. What you fail to recognize is the difference of instructions specifically to men of authority, appointed/ordained by Christ Himself or by those He appointed/ordained.Scripture has been around since Moses.
We are only to believe those whose teachings align with what the apostles teach in scripture for the perpiscuity of scripture doth not require a high level of genius lest the bible be worthless…i’ve shown you over and over it was meant for ordinary believers, how is it you still fail to see that?
and it was the HS who protected God’s revelation not the institute at rome.
Your attempt to stigmatize the Catholic Church is noted, however it is not an honest attempt at discussion as it is to somehow demean.
AGAIN, if the Holy Spirit was truly the interpreter for every individual, we’d have no need of teachers. Christ spoke about the Holy Spirit and Spirit of truth guiding and teaching them ALL things, but He was only speaking to His Apostles when He said it. IT was NOT spoken to the multitudes, who at the time were ‘ordinary believers’.
The Bible being worthless is just something to say to cling to a private interpretation. The Bible teaches us the teaching the men of the Church were instructed to teach us and it gives us the sermons to the multitudes.
Your statement about a ‘high level of genius’ is not needed, is not taught in scriptures. In fact, Peter’s writing conflicts with that statement.
2Pe 3:15 And account the longsuffering of our Lord, salvation: as also our most dear brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, hath written to you:
2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are certain things hard to be understood, which the unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction.
2Pe 3:17 You therefore, brethren, knowing these things before, take heed, lest being led aside by the error of the unwise, you fall from your own steadfastness.
2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and unto the day of eternity, Amen.
I’m sure those Peter writes about felt they had a certain ‘level of intellect’, but Peter tells us it wasn’t enough to understand the scriptures properly.
The Catholic Church preserved the Bible to modern day. It is a Catholic book and can ony be interpreted by the Catholic Church. That gives ONE interpretation and not thousands to pick and choose from.
