NO!Fireman Frank,
But in the mean time, might I suggest an attidude adjustment on your part?
Of course it is, that’s why I didn’t say it.To imply that there are no sinlge devout Catholic woman is silly.
I think I convey (and with some amount of clarity) that I do not like to associate with outright heretics.Because you have this idea stuck in your head, you may be conveying this mindset in your actions, body language and conversations.
If women are not responding to my not tolerating “in your face heretics”…Woman/people may pick up on this and may not be responding to you.
Your off a little bit there, but don’t worry … I’ll help you out!Maybe they are sensing a self-righteousness in you - “I pray the rosary daily…hmmm do you?”, type attitude.
What I don’t accept (and God clearly abhors) is someone who is trying to literally destroy His Church from the inside out.Maybe God is waiting for a slight change on your end till he feels you are ready to accept someone of His choice.
Interesting, but unfortunately, somewhat shortsighted.God bless in your search - but often it’s not those around us in need of some changes - it often starts with us.
Well, I can’t say I’m not a “rebel”.![]()

When is it?And to think I was going to invite you to our St. Gabriel Possenti Day outing!!!
Seek out a Tridentine Mass. Seek out a head covering woman. While I can’t promise that each and every woman there would measure up to your ideal, may I humbly suggest that this is your best bet for finding a serious orthodox Catholic woman. What’s a serious Catholic man to do?
And your post has clearly illustrated a serious deficit that exists with those who supposedely consider themselves “catholics”.ugh! Your whole post #62 has confirmed what I gather from you.
Well it all makes sense now.jrabs, if memory serves me correctly, you are a single Catholic woman who takes her faith very seriously, aren’t you? You live in New York, right?
Yep - I am unmarried, though currently smitten for which I praise God. Though I will agree that I severly lack a sense of humor ( just ask my Curmudgeon and Junkie friends).jrabs, if memory serves me correctly, you are a single Catholic woman who takes her faith very seriously, aren’t you? Me too!!!I know one who lives in the Houston area…
Sorry…I was thinking of this Elizabeth/Mr. Darcy moment there…just not happening I guess.Yep - I am unmarried, though currently smitten for which I praise God. Though I will agree that I severly lack a sense of humor ( just ask my Curmudgeon and Junkie friends).![]()
Actually though, maybe she did have a good point about not being quick to judge people and categorize them. I definitely do understand your desire to find a Catholic woman who takes her faith very seriously, but it is a good idea to realize that we are all works in progress. If you meet a really nice woman who is lacking in one area or another, maybe she just needs some encouragement or guidance. That’s where you are really fortunate that you are a man, because it is the husband’s role to be the spiritual leader of the household. That makes it somewhat easier for you if you find someone who has a good foundation of faith but needs some extra help here or there. It’s a different story for us women though. Just imagine what it is like to be married to a man who does not put God first in his life. If you are trying to be a good and supportive wife and submit to his authority, you will be way off track. I think for a woman it is much more critical to find a man who is very strong in his faith.Well it all makes sense now.
Maybe people will finally understand the problem I’m having trying to find an orthodox Catholic woman who also has a sense of humor and who is not self-righteous.
Maybe it’s this state?
Could be time for me to move …
FiremanFrank, are you a deacon?Do what I have been doing, just stay involved in the activities at your church which inspire your heart.
This will either lead you to your future wife, or maybe to a different vocation (deacon, brother, priest).
I don’t think you’re refusing the Will of God as much as you are simply discerning His Will.
And if it makes you feel any better, in retrospect, my last 10 years of celibacy since my divorce and annullment has allowed me to:
And that was what my thread was originally all about.
- experience a crash course on Catholic Apologetics
- be tempted by evil beyond all imagination
- share time with people of other Christian faiths
- take studies for the diaconate
- witness my Roman diocese falling into a heterodox dive
- find the Eastern Catholic Church
- and much, much, more
But during that time, I did not meet one single Catholic woman that I was attracted to that was faithful to the Church.
LOL
When else? On St. Gabriel Possenti day! (or on the weekend near to it…)When is it?
Dude! Hook us up!Our parish has a lot of orthodox Catholic ladies (single and young)…
