…and many have Catholic in thier moniker as well.
Maybe they were baptized or confirmed in your church and are just following your church’s teaching of who is a member of the Catholic Church. Sure they may be “cafeteria” or “CINO” in the eyes of some on this forum or non practicing or dissenting. But if a Catholic denies them the right to call themselves Catholic, the Catholic denying them that right is not following all of the teachings either. In this case who can rightfully be called a Catholic.

I was told in an earlier thread that TEC supports “abortions on demand,” which is ridiculous. It seems that there are many misconceptions about TEC on here. If one visits any Anglican/Episcopal forum or message board, they will see that there is alot of diversity amongst the laity. In fact, a TEC conducted poll (2010) has shown that there is almost an even split amongst the laity in regards liberal, conservative, and moderate.

See page 6 for those who are interested in TEC demographics:

Yes I’ve seen it said here too that TEC believes in “abortion on demand”. I recall an Episcopalian correcting it. So I myself was led to actually go to the TEC site then and do a search. And then when I came across the analysis from Pew about the views of various religious groups (the thread title was changed), it was partly why I started the thread. I agree there does seem to be many misconceptions here about TEC. Thank you for the page. I’m interested enough in knowing the truth about Episcopalians that I will check it out. 🙂 God’s blessings and peace to you.

Wonderful circular reasoning, but it doesn’t wash.
I don’t recall in my short sentence “denying them the right to call themselves Catholic”, but I’ll ignore that. They can call themselves Devoted Disciples of the Dead Puppy Cult for all I care.
Abortion and Christianity do not mix, simple as that. To attempt to do so, one must be sacrificed for the other. The line is drawn in the sand, and you can’t play in the middle.
The blood of 54,559,615 dead babies cry out to a Holy God.

Ok if you would not deny them the right to call themselves Catholic, then that does not apply to you. It was just curious that you brought it up that they do.

What is the view of the American RC hierarchy on the issue? Why was that bloodlines champion of abortion Ted Kennedy granted a Christian burial? Perhaps he repented at the last, but it certainly sends a very scandalous message.

For my own part working in the Pro Life movement here in England, which seems to be gathering momentum with lots of young people being involved, has been greatly encouraging. Abortion really gets to the black heart of the cultural revolution in the West, and it must be stopped.
