I will be 46 years old in September and I am pregnant. I conceived naturally and I am about 14 weeks pregnant. My oldest daughter is 22 and will have her second child next month. My youngest is 8 years old. I really didn’t expect to be pregnant at my age but here I am. So I am looking for some moral support especially if there are any mom’s out there that had a child at my age. I am really anxious and overwhelmed and thinking of the worst since I am considered a high risk pregnancy. I would really like some reassurance and prayers please.

Thanks!
First of all, congratulations!

I’m 45 and 10 weeks pregnant with my 6th child. My eldest is 12 and my youngest is almost 4. I must admit, I thought I was done. I was open to the possibility of another child, but it just seemed so unlikely. I had two miscarriages a year and a half ago, then nothing for so long. I allowed myself to leave “baby mode”. I got rid of all the baby stuff, but more importantly, I started to envision a life without little ones. This is requiring a major adjustment on my part.

I’m actually looking forward to having a baby, but I’d rather not go through the pregnancy part. :o It will be a challenging pregnancy, I know. My biggest worry at this point is finding a doctor who isn’t going to freak out that I’m 45 and having a 5th c-section.

I’ll pray for you; please pray for me as well. These babies are a gift from God and we will love them and they will love us. They’ll keep us young and simultaneously make us old All of my babies have been born in my 30s and 40s. I never knew being a “young” mother, but this geriatric motherhood is a whole new thing.

Good luck! My mom had me at 40 and she likes to say that it keeps her young.

Congratulations!!

You can count on my prayers, to "Our lady of Fatima’ on, you and your healthy childs behalf and great blessing from God!
Peace…Martin.

Congratulations! Prayers for you and your baby.

I had my youngest when I was 44. And I things scare orn when my mom was in her 40’s. Don’t be scared about having a baby in your mid 40’s. The fact that you conceived naturally indicates your body is “young” for your age. 🙂

**A beautiful new life, what a blessing ! Congratulations to you and your husband.

Blessed Mother, please intercede for us.
Hold the sorrowful, strengthen the fearful,
mother and love the weary, abused, neglected
or forgotten among us,
give your aid to all needing help or healing,
assist those who are sick, in pain or suffering,
be with those needing peace,
console the lonely or brokenhearted,
comfort the lost or hopeless,
guard the unborn,
pray for those who are dying or who have died,
soften those with hardened hearts,
enlighten those who do not yet see truth,
help us be brave enough to let our hurt and anger go,
show us the way to do the right thing,
protect those who are in danger,
and guide us from every evil.
May all who keep your sacred commemoration
experience the might of your assistance.
Amen :gopray2: **

My mother was 48 when I was born. My siblings were 14, 12, 10 and 8. There is nothing wrong with me! Don,t worry. Trust in God. He will help you all the time.

Congratulations! My mom had several children in her 40’s and the youngest in her early 50’s. I’m glad she kept having children.

I’m 47, married 26 years, never been pregnant, and although we have a wonderful 20 year old son we adopted when he was born, I would have loved to have had at least one more child.

You give me hope! 👍 Congratulations and God bless!

We adopted our beautiful daughter when I was 52. Of course I didn’t have to go through the pregnancy. She is soon to be 18 and I’m 70 now; Now that’s the challenge!
But you will be fine.

Prayers for you and baby and wishing both of you the best. I also have a friend who got pregnant at 42. She got married at 17 so her oldest daughter who also got married young was expecting. My friend thought that at her age she wouldn’t get pregnant anymore and decided to stop NFP and now she has a healthy baby boy. She was also high risk so she took it easy and spent a lot of time resting. Towards the end she had some issues with preclampsia and the baby was born at 38 weeks but they are now perfectly fine. Congrats 😃

I want to thank each and everyone of you that posted. I needed that. :), I will keep ya’ll posted. I do have a great Catholic doctor oby/gyn. I think that will make a big difference too in my attitude about this pregnancy.

Well my grandmother had my uncle when she was 46 and he was completely healthy and that was back in the 50s. She also had a heart condition and lived till the mid 70s. The heart condition was unrelated just made things for her more risky.

congratulations ADV and babochka!!

I have had two in my 40’s and they are beautiful, vibrant energetic kids. I have 3 friends that have had babies at the age of 45. I am 44 and looking at the old baby clothes and things and starting to give things away. Maybe I should wait a couple of years!!

i had my son last year i was 42 high risk but everything was fine until four days before he was due i had placental abruption, but that can happen to any pregnant woman. i went through all the test for downs etc and was told that i was high risk for it because i was an older mum, but it turned out the results showed that the chance of me having a downs baby was the same as someone who was in their 20’s. i dont personal think age has anything to do with the high risk factor, Good luck and congrats to you. at least you have a baby sitter if needed 😛
I was born by way of a placental abruption and my mom was 23. She went on to have two more successful pregnancies. I don’t think age matters as much as the woman’s overall health, and even then, lots of less-then-ideally-healthy women have uneventful pregnancies,

Congratulations on your pregnancy! You have my prayers…God bless.

Congratulations!

My wife had our fourth child when she was 42 (I was nearing 50!)

We were already older when we got married. We had all four within 4 1/2 years.

Now here we are - our kids are 5,7,8 and 9. We’re a bit on the old side for the parents around here, but when I think about what my life would be like without the kids. I’d still be 55 years old and my life would be a lot quieter. I’d be more rested. But, I’ve got the rest of my life to slow down and take it easy.

The kids are keeping us young and busy. (Sometimes too busy).

From what i can see - every family is different. Every makeup is different. So you and your daughter are going to have kids of the same age. I suppose that is unusual, but, it may be pretty terrific as well.

And, yes, at your age, the risks are higher - but the odds are still well in your favor that you will have a happy healthy baby. And your child is going to have a experienced parents. There is a lot in your favor. May God bless all of you in your adventure.

(Oh, and you are only 46. That was the age I was when my oldest was born. He’s almost 10 now. I can’t believe how quickly those years went by). I can barely remember life before that.

Congratulations! May God bless you with a happy and healthy 9 months!

Kerri 🙂
