666...Who is the man that bares the mark?

Man was created on the sixth day.----------> Six is the number of a man ----> A man on the throne of God

When that man ( any man really) worships himself he is 666.

When we allow what he say’s to form our conscience the mark is on our forehead. When what we do is conformed to that conscience the mark is on our hand.

yup, he’ll stay hidden until the number and unity of those who have conformed to his morals and mindset make his goal certain. Very sublime in every way.

Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead,

These people today legislate according to the mark imho. They make laws that force christians to either take the mark or quit selling products and in turn no longer buy products

so that no one can buy or sell who does not have the mark,

in other words make laws that will violate the christian conscience.

“666” very clearly refers to Nero, and “Babylon” as Rome. They were the current oppressors of the faith.

What did God do? Conquered Rome, made her the Mother Church.

“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Saint Paul to the Philippians, 2:9-11

I would also add:

If you look directly above Israel we don’t find Russia, but Turkey. So when the bible says that armies will come from the North, well, that is Turkey. Turkey is becoming increasingly Islamicly conservative. It was also the last great empire in the area. Not Rome.

It makes so much more sense that the Ottomans are the empire that came after Bablyon, the Medes and Persians etc. If you look at the area Rome conquered vs the area that the Ottomans conquered, it’s clear. At best the Romans had a 2 year period where they rules over Babylon. They were hardly an empire in that area. The Ottomans however did and for a lot longer than 2 years.
 
CatholicSheila, do you believe that the religious mindset of the Muslim religion can one day become world wide? That the conscience formed by practicing that religion can?

Imagine a world where there was only a thousand Catholics left and everyone else was Muslim! Apparently the Muslim religion is one of the fastest growing religions.

I don’t believe it is required.

I agree with something @Luke-Suncook said earlier. The “worldwide religion” isn’t necessarily world wide. It refers to the area surrounding Israel. When the prophecies were written the known world didn’t include the US or Australia. Why do we assume that we are included? “the whole world” wasn’t “the whole world” as we know it. It will take place within an Islamic Caliphate in the Middle East, Turkey, Northern Africa and in that surrounding area.

I certainly believe that it will grow in the west. We’re already seeing that but I don’t think it needs to be the majority as the prophecy of the bible is about Israel. Not us.

Ottomans: Legs
Ottomans: Feet of Iron and Clay.

You clearly don’t think it is the Romans. So, if not the Ottomans, who? Certainly nothing would suggest we will see a resurgence of the Greek Empire.

Referring to Rome as “Babylon” was a symbolic illusion to the Babylonians capturing Israel as documented in the Old Testament.
