This may not be the answer you’re looking for, but here are some thoughts which came to mind after reading the post.
That’s a little different approach if I read the example correctly … close to superimposing the body part of another woman onto one’s wife.
I wonder if we could call that
morphing your neighbor’s wife or goods ?
Depending on the body part one fills in the blank with – that body part is probably going to be of a particular use to the husband as well .Because we don’t actually know the intricacies of that use and of what else is going on in the mind of the husband , the example remains a little too vague to make a correct call… we can’t identify *intention *precisely enough.
With the limited information on hand, I think it might be considered a first step towards fantasizing about another woman . In general, when we look at sexual sins under the microscope, fantasizing usually plays some type of a role in them - whether minor, major, direct or indirect . At some point, we buy into the
illusion (whatever it may be).
While some people see nothing wrong with “looking” , our Blessed Lord was clear about *committing adultery in the heart * [Matt 5:28] . This example definitely leans in that direction – lusting after or desiring, at least, a body part of someone other than one’s wife (no matter who it’s attached to) . It’s a distortion ; using another woman’s body parts to fantasize about one’s own wife. Even lusting after one’s own wife can be excessive.
Some would say the example doesn’t amount to thoughts of infidelity or adultery, but I might ask : How many different parts of another woman can one “morph” onto their wife before they no longer recognize her as their wife ?
Wishing one’s wife was like another woman, in whatever way, expresses a discontent with one’s own wife ( if we dwell on it a moment, the husband is actually saying, “I don’t like you this way” to his wife ) … It mirrors one of the sentiments which can cause men to eventually go and actually commit adultery . It also mirrors a sentiment which can make a woman feel insifficient to the point of going and getting surgical implants.
I don’t think it can be filed under “
spiritually healthy thoughts” .
