Clearly racist of them. You are supposed to keep your business in the area, so that it can looted and burned every few years or so for social justice.

Not much of a surprise. The building they were in was pretty old and the rest of the business is based SW of the city.

They’re standing in the wreckage looking around, figuring out what it will take to rebuild, and then they hear the city council wants to abolish the PD?
That’s a palm, meet forehead moment. They’re thinking “the city failed us, now they want to get rid of the police department? They’re telling us we’re ‘privileged’ to expect police service? What the heck are they thinking?” Then the decision to rebuild elsewhere is a very easy one. The city has no one to blame but itself for that outcome. The trust they allowed to burn will take a dang long time to restore.
