And that is fine. But remember, **you’ve been stating it as fact; to the point of acusing males of dishonesty on this thread. ** (not so cool) Post #33:
The dishonesty I’m referring to, is where there seem to be a denial that when they were boys between he age of 12 and 18, they did not not welcome sex with an attractive older woman, if they were given the chance.

The boys you mentioned who were abused and suffered, if the abuser was a male, yes, they suffered shame, and emotionally, for the rest of their lives. If it was a female abuser, my guess, is that it was not so severe, if there was any at all. Also, your experience was 1982, when we were well into the sexual revolution and although they still suffered, imagine what it was like for a young male, to have been abused by an adult male, back in the 60’s or 50’s?

Even today, a female who is raped, suffers emotional trauma, no doubt about it. However, back in the 50’s and 60’s, a female who was raped, often ended up in mental institutions an suffered emotional trauma, that it destroyed her entire life. She was treated as damaged property by society.

I didn’t see any man on this thread deny they wanted sex, or fantasized about sex in their teen years. But you continually EQUATE that with having sex thrust upon them when they were not mature enough or psychologically ready for it.

Again, your guess is all you’ve got, and you don’t want any more info on the subject. I think these victims deserve more than speculation.

I’ve witnessed the damage. It’s real enough.

You post has a hint of hostility, why?

If you want to discus the subject and present an opinion that is different than mine, please do. I’m open to other points of view.

So far, your information hasn’t changed my opinion, sorry if this upsets you.

as I said three or four times, I’ve seen young lives destroyed.

You’ve been given different opinions and actual information from abuse specialists by about a dozen others, jim.

I’ve been very blunt with you. Sorry if that upsets you.

Jim, you seem like a “get the last word” sort of guy, even if I DID change your opinion, you would have the final word, so please get that over with.

Sorry to enter this discussion so late, but the sex of the victims is irrelevant. My 12 - 14 year old son would be just as unprepared for sex with an adult as would my 12 - 14 year old daughter. The age of the offender is also irrelevant. This woman committed a crime. Perhaps she needs to consider her jail time as preparation for Purgatory.

LOL–how do we know this nun was attractive?

These men were USED by this nun…by someone they trusted. Every child…boy or girl…should be able to come to school without a teacher soliciting them for sex. And, that is what this nun did. She solicited them for sex. Period. Whether they climaxed…or she was attractive or the sky was blue that day, is irrelevant. Emotionally, these boys were left feeling used, and didn’t have much say with this woman. The fact that she was a nun also played a huge role, because I’m sure she threatened them to not tell…and from a Catholic perspective, they most likely viewed the whole thing as shameful–because nuns are not supposed to be having sex…they might have thought…we did something wrong, here, etc. That is how a boy/man can be a victim…they are put into a situation where they are used for sex. No boy or girl should have to go through that. The nun wasn’t looking for a consenting relationship…she wanted to use these men, once boys, for her pleasure. In a school setting. Misusing her power as a teacher. That is why she is facing jail time.

I agree…the age and the gender to me is irrelevant.
