7th Asian Youth Day in Indonesia in 2017

This is pretty cool. I am glad that they have an Asian Youth Day. From what I understand, the Church in Asia is growing very rapidly! May God be praised forever for this!

Holly 3278, it is! let’s just hope it is growing, especially the vocation to the priesthood. I know Society of the Divine Word religious order keeps sending Indonesian missionary priests to Africa, which is their main focus for the next few years. Definitely we need to send more Asian priests to evangelize western hemisphere, mainly European countries. 😃
 
Interesting … I have spent time in Indonesia, found very little in Christian churches, let alone Catholic ones, but they’re there. The predominant Muslim majority are mostly like you and me, conservative values and want to be left alone to raise their families and do business. There is a definite extremist element in the country but the government has done a decent job keeping them out of the major cities though not without some cost in security measures that are essentially protecting Muslim from Muslim. Indonesia is a pretty big country so I’d be curious where they’re doing it.
