Okay so I will stand infront of the podium, say Hi šŸ‘‹ my name is Mirror Mirror and I am a hair band addict

(all echo) Hi Mirror Mirror!!

I know that I am not the only one out there, so come on out of hiding. List your top 5 hair bands and those that you feel just deserve some mentioning. I’ll start
  1. Skid Row
  2. Warrant
  3. Def Leppard
  4. Heaven’s Edge
  5. Tuff
(those that deserve a mentioning as well)

Motley Crue, Poison, Firehouse, Slaughter, Tesla, Dangerous Toys, Danger Danger, Faster Pussycat, Pretty Boy Floyd, Tora Tora, Dream Theater, Candlebox, Electric Boys, Sweet FA, Roxy Blue, Extreme, Southgang, White Lion, Winger, the list goes on and on.

What are yours?
Skid Row before they got rid of Sebstian Bach (love him!!). And Sebastian only when he left Skid Row. I met him too, sooo hot!!
Poison
Def Leppard
Danger Danger
AC DC
Ratt
Van Halen (with David Lee Roth, not when they didn’t have him)
Metallica too!

I had other CD’s like from Dream Theater, Faster Pussycat, Slaughter, Warrant, the list goes on, but they weren’t my top favorites.

Oh, and I had a guns n roses badge on the back of my jean jacket too, LOL

I still have my G n R T-shirt (looks like the backpatch), some Bon Jovi ones & a Cinderella one in my drawer. Got a couple Metallica too -hubby got me liking harder stuff later in high school. Haven’t worn them in years. I did get rid of most of rock shirts but kept a few sentimental items. I have newer Bon Jovi T’s from recent concerts that I’ll wear sometimes.

I had all the little buttons on my jean jacket. I had Poison, GN’R, Warrant, Metallica, WASP, Judas Priest, Motley Crue, L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, Skid Row, Rush, Blue Oyster Cult, Def Leppard, Cinderella and others. The front was covered with buttons. I had the GN’R back patch too.

Interestingly enough, the guitarist from Warrant owns a bar in Cleveland and has a heavy metal karaoke night. You can sing along with the band. You pick a song and they play it while you sing. I’ve never gone, but I’ve seen it advertised.

BRING BACK THE HAIR!!
#1 OZZY ( My first concert,Bark at the moon tour)
#2 White Lion
#3 Mamma’s Boys( Mamma we’re all crazy now)
#4 Man O War ( ever hear of them?)
#5 Cinderella
and how 'bout Vixen, Oh the good ole days.
Thanks for bringing this up, gotta go rumage through my tape collection.

I have seen that jacket before, probably not on you, but what I would not give to go back. šŸ˜›
Ahh yes the 80’s…it was the best of times, it was the worst of times…It would be fun to go back -for a bit a least. Hey I could be a size 5 again -whoopee! The last song played at my prom was Patience by G n’ R. Hubby requested it (boyfriend at the time ofcourse.) He whistled the beginning part as we danced. He still whistles that part whenever we hear that song. Aww ā¤ļø

To me it is amazing that a lot of these bands are back together and still touring.

That is why I have been ā€œrummagingā€ through YouTube to see the old videos. I have a few VHS tapes in the basement I need to dig out and watch the videos on. Let me know what tapes you come across. I have the following in my car (yes with a tape player) Dangerous Toys, Vain, Roxx Gang, Child’s Play and Roxxi.

Aside from Dangerous Toys anyone heard of any of the others?

I hate to admit it, but when I was younger I was so in love with the lead singer from RATT. 😊
I was more of a Warren DeMartini gal (lead guitarist).

I met my husband at a local park in highschool. And what cassette was I playing on my radio that my friend & I carried with us? Way Cool Junior.

I pretty much wore out my t-shirts. I had Metallica ones too. I liked heavier stuff also, as well as bands that never were considered ā€œhair bandsā€ like Rush, Judas Priest, Blue Oyster Cult, Black Sabbath/Ozzy.

I later did get into grunge and punk in college and had a bunch of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Dead Kennedys and Black Flag shirts. Those are worn out and gone too. Thankfully, so are the flannel shirts. I still wear Dr. Martens boots though. I won’t give those up because they are so comfy. 😃

Unfortunately, I do not have much of the music from the 80’s any more. I had all that stuff on cassette. I didn’t get a CD player until I was in college and did not replace most of my cassettes. I pretty much traded them in (when you could still do that) at a used record store and got new music on CD.

I was doing pretty well on those quizzes. Hitting about 90% on them for awhile, until one of them got REALLY obscure, like you’d only know if you were a big fan of the LA Club scene.
Which one was it? I am going to have to try it.

That sounds like so much fun. I would go there in a split second!

Is it more amazing that many of them are still ALIVE?

The amount of chemicals and STD’s those guys must have had…whew.

I guess the foremost part of you post is true and I will try to focus on the music and not all that would come with them…yuk!!

ā€œRock and Roll (Gonna Set the Night on Fire)ā€ Pretty Boy Floyd, on my radio station.

Doing those quizzes scared me, just how many lyrics I remember.

Yikes!

What’s scarier, was that, as I was doing the quizzes, there were so many songs that I was like ā€œMan, I wish I could hear that RIGHT NOWā€

Also made me think of some more ā€œone-offā€ bands that I liked:
Junkyard
Black N Blue
Four Horsemen
Femme Fatale
Badlands (First album ROCKED!)
Lynch Mob
Sass Jordan (Always reminded me of the Black Crowes with a girl singing)
Girlschool (Remade ā€œFox on the Runā€)
Slade (Also did a Sweet remake)
Bang Tango
Danger Danger
Tora Tora
Babylon AD
Gorky Park (Bang! was such a ripoff of Kiss’ ā€œI love it loudā€)
King’s X

I’ll have to look through the cassette collection for more memories. If I find something ā€œuniqueā€, I’ll let you know.

How about Green Jelly - Three Little Pigs?

I swear, if they had hair, I listened…

What is even more scary is that we are on the exact same page with this. The best place I found to hear those songs again is on YouTube. I also have a site that is MP3 Rocket that I get a lot of songs for my mp3 player. I am going to look at this thread to get ideas later.

I had the Green Jello cd before they had to change their name.

It is scary how much I remember from those songs. I was at a friends house and they had an 80s music station on Direct TV and I could get some of the songs in the first 5 seconds, they would just do this :bigyikes:
