Truly, I do not teach about Baptism ans most Church doctrines, others do that. I teach personal ministries and your personal prayer life. But you’ve told us like a dozen dozen times that you don’t believe in a lot of really major church teachings. Even so, you can absolutely ignore your own conscience and present those teachings with conviction, just as if you did believe them? Truly?
I do not teach things that I do not believe in.You don’t have a problem teaching things you don’t believe in?
Good subject. We talked about that last night in RCIA. We are temples of the body of Christ.Truly, I do not teach about Baptism ans most Church doctrines, others do that. I teach personal ministries and your personal prayer life.
That’s a relief! If I were asked about Church teachings (never have been) I would tell the truth on how I feel.

If you do not believe the Teachings of the CC, why do you assist those wanting to enter in?
You must have a very deep spirituality. God bless
- Because I was asked to by our Priest
You want to help people become Catholic?
- Because I want to.
And your priest/ supervisor is okay with that? Knowing that one of their teachers is dead against certain Catholic teachings and would (if asked) say that to them, the TRUTH is something totally against teachings of the Church?Truly, I do not teach about Baptism ans most Church doctrines, others do that. Thank you. And if that is what they want so be it. It is not my job to tell people what to do. Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. You must have a very deep spirituality. God bless

Apparently because i never hide who I am. I do not teach anything against CC. Have never been asked in class anything contrary. And your priest/ supervisor is okay with that? That’s not a scriptural position there Rev…That Baptism is Immersion or submersion. That Baptism doesn’t save a person but is a sign of obedience to Christ That giong under the water is like a dead person being buried under the ground, that is pictures that a person had died to the old way of life. Raising up from the water is like a dead person coming up from the grave in the earth, it pictuers new life that is eternal and future resurrection from the grave. That Baptism is not a requirement of salvation but it is a requirement of obedience. Baptism is the first step of discipleship.Baptism is never the salvation event but a picture of it. Christian Baptism is in a sense a sharing of this death and resurrection and all that brought Christ to those events. Baptism also gives witness to the death and resurrection of Christ, those who participate are identified with Him.
Where is Diana when I need her? (There is a Mormon on CAF who likes to find logical fallacies in statements)This argument is weak in trying to prove the OSAS position. This is the Catholic position of faithful endurance. You point out that the limb is not burned but instead removed – which is exactly what the Church teaches in regards to mortal sin and excommunication. When the penitent returns through Confession and Reconciliation with the Church – they are grafted back in. NO limb will be burned until after they are judged – and guess when that happens? AFTER they die and leaved this world.
The TRUE OSAS adherent says that no matter what happens after I am initially saved – I cannot lose my salvation – period.
Number one, it does not deny free will. I’m not even sure where you get this idea. The scripture was:
26If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
I stated:
For OSAS, I would say the point is Christ is never rejected, as suggested must happen in this verse. The person still maintains Christ is their Judge, just that they are falling short of the mark.
You responded:
This verse never suggests this. This denies free will and is therefore, heresy.
While I agree the Bible can speak to all people, you can’t take scripture out of context and plug it in like it was a Mad Lib.Can you understand that it doesn’t matter who the verse is directed to at the time – it is directed to ALL in the context of Scripture. This is “Hermeneutics 101”.
Let’s go with your take on it. You claim that it is only directed towards teachers – the message is the SAME. They can know and live the truth and be on the road to salvation – and later, LOSE their faith and whatever hope they had of salvation.
You beat me to it. Awesome post. That’s not a scriptural position there Rev…
Why is baptism given such paramount importance in Jesus’ final instructions to the apostles if it is only symbolic? Because it is salvific! Scripture simply does not support a symbolic view of baptism
Jesus is quoting Psalm 40, which condemns people for offering sacrifice but not taking care of widows and orphans. They are offering sacrifices but not obeying his commandments..
Then Hebrews 10:8-10 says
8First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them” (although the law required them to be made). 9Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
.
So why do I not do as the Essene and be baptized daily?**
Baptism forgives all sins on the soul at the time of the Baptism.** Acts 22:16
That’s actually true - they’re not. However, they are still bound to the natural law, which means that if they ever at any time do anything that is wrong (that is, if they break any one of the seven precepts of the Noahide Covenant - do not lie, do not steal, do not kill, do not be jealous, do not envy, do not dishonor your parents, do not break your solemn promises), while knowing that it’s wrong (these laws are written on our hearts; it’s difficult to not know that these things are wrong, unless you are actually psychotic - I am sure there are mothers out in the untracked wilderness who yell at their kids for lying to them about stealing the best-tasting bugs out of the termite stump, thus ruining their appetite for dinner), without being forced to do so, then they still have a major problem.First on a side note: I have actually heard non-Christians try to use this as an example of God have other plans of Salvation, because it basically says, once you learn about Christ and accept him, you are bound to that. Meaning, if you don’t know about Christ you are not bound to Christ’s standards.
Because the Apostles taught us that "we believe in one Baptism, for the forgiveness of sins."So why do I not do as the Essene and be baptized daily?
