Not in the Bible. Nope:nope: The Bible says the opposite. It says to work out your salvation in fear and trembling.

Jesus said Mt 7:21
Mine has been worked out when I accepted Jesus into my heart. Sorry your’s hasn’t. God Bless and peace

Come on, tell the truth, did you think about hitting me with a big stick once or twice? :D/QUOT

No I haven’t but come to think of it if I was there I might. I love you with the love of the Lord even if I don’t agree with you. I love my husband dearly but don’t always agree with him and I have never even thought about hitting him, not yet anyway!

My debt was paid by Jesus. Sorry your’s isn’t. Eph.2: 5&6
Paul says that you have to work out your salvation in fear an trembling. That is what the Bible says. Show me the scripture that says that you accept Jesus into your heart and that is all you have to do. You have had 8 years of BSF so it shouldn’t be difficult to provide the appropriate scripture. Don’t forget the scripture that says the Bible contains all. I tremble for your presumption that you are saved. I have provided scripture but you ignore it. Why?

Great… now you are giving her ideas!

25Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” - John 11:25-26
Will” - not “already is.” 🙂

So you want this in some sort of present tense constuction to show it is occuring now?

John 5:24:
Amen, amen dico vobis, quia qui verbum meum audit, et credit ei qui misit me, habet vitam æternam, et in judicium non venit, sed transiit a morte in vitam.

Amen, amen, I say unto you that he who hears my word and believes him that sent me has life everlasting: and comes not into judgment, but is passed from death to life.

We die every time we sin, because we have condemned ourselves. We must return to Him as His Church instructs us.

There is no belief without obedience. Many people will say that they know (believe in) God, but they will not be saved because in order to believe in God, they also have to obey Him.

Hebrews 3:18-19
And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to** those who did not obey**? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Unbelief is disobedience. Belief is obedience. You cannot inherit eternal life if you do not obey God’s commandments and His commands include producing good fruits.

For example:
I command you to buy a lottery ticket and guarantee that you will win $10,000,000.

You will buy the lottery ticket (obey my command) if you believe me.

If you do not believe me, then you will not buy the lottery ticket. You will not obey my command to buy the lottery ticket if you disbelieve me. You will not buy the ticket (obey) because of unbelief in me.

So, if a person says that he know Gods (believes in Him), then he must also obey what God commands him to do. If he does not obey His commands, then he does not believe in Him.

This is why Scripture states:

John 8:54-55
Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God. 55 Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word.

God the Father honors Jesus because Jesus truly knows His Father. He can say that He knows His Father only because He obeys His Father. The Pharisees do not know His Father at all, yet they say that they do. They are liars.

1 John 2:4
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Obedience is belief. Disobedience is unbelief. To know Him is to obey Him. To believe in Him is to obey Him.

There is no belief in God without obedience to Him. You cannot know God if you do not also obey Him.

This is why many Christians will be very surprised at the Judgment. They will claim to know (believe in) God, but since they did not obey God’s commandments, they will not be approved to enter into eternal life.

Luke 13:23-28
Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”

He said to them, 24"Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. 25Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’
"But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

26"Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.

27"But he will reply, 'I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!'

28"There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.

Salvation is a lifelong process. The state of the soul at the instant of death is what determines whether a person inherits eternal life or whether he is condemned to hell.

This is why the Apostles warn:

1 Thessalonians 5:2
For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.

Our own personal “day of the Lord” is the instant that we die. We must always remain/abide in a state of sanctifying/saving grace if we desire to enter into eternal life because if we do not, then we might not get a chance to repent before death.

The foolish virgins were not prepared. This parable tells us that their oil lamps had no oil (their souls were not prepared/they did not have sanctifying grace) and so they were not allowed into the wedding banquet (eternal life) Matthew 25:1-13.

It’s another name for salvation. It will take place after I die, when I am judged to be perfect and I am allowed to go to Heaven. 🙂
You can loose salvation but you cannot loose being saved, once you accept Christ into your life he will never leave.
So you will be judged perfect. No man is perfect only God is prefect and you will never reach perfection no matter how hard you try.

Most persons believe that OSAS means that once you are saved, then you cannot lose your salvation, no matter what you do.
**
Christ never leaves any person while the person is still alive on earth**. However, if he dies in a state of mortal sin (if he does not have sanctifying grace on his soul at the time of his death), then he is condemned to hell. Christ must then leave him if he is condemned to hell because hell is “godless.” That is why hell is called hell. God is eternal Light and hell is eternal darkness. God cannot be in hell.
I have said through out this thread that you can loose your salvation but you will never loose being saved…

This is false. Ask anyone who has ever done any sky diving. If they are still alive, it means they did it perfectly, the first time and every time. However, if you are the kind of person who has to make his own mistakes, then skydiving is not for you. 😉

We are also capable (if only we believe it, and try) of living the Christian life perfectly. 🙂

How can you be perfect? Now a sky diver may not do everything prefect but they still live. So I did not make a false statement.

He does everything related to skydiving perfectly. If not, he would die.

Jesus would not ask us to live the Christian life perfectly, if it were not possible for us to do so. He gave us the Sacraments for precisely this reason - to give us the tools we need to live the Christian life. 🙂

There have been people who have not died. Give me Scritpure to back up the perfectly claim.

Off the top of my head, Matthew 5:48. St. James tells us to be doers of the word, and not hearers only. James 1 :22-25

How are you defining perfection?
