I’m about 95% sure rev meant chapter 1.Colossians Chapter 2 has only 23 versus.
What does complete mean to you? Revelation 21:27 tells us that nothing unclean can enter heaven, what does “unclean” mean to you. I’m assuming that you agree that when we go to heaven and are ‘complete’ that we would no longer be unclean; so conversely, what does it mean to be clean? I know what it means to me and other Catholics, what does it mean to you?
I’m not, these practices were and are sins, God forbade them as He does all sin and expects us to be perfect before Him, as is shown by this verse and Mt 5:28. What do you think God meant by the word “perfect” in verse 13?
So you believe that our Lord gave us a commandment that is not achievable?!

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.
Our God would never give us a commandment that is too hard to obey, do you think He would? Christ’s disciples truly have the power to erase the sin from our souls, Christ gave them that power. To demonstrate the cleansing power of His forgiveness, our God healed physical ailments in cooperation with the forgiveness of their sins [Mk 2:1-11], He then passed on this power to His disciples [Jn 20:22-23] who have continued this practice all the way down to today. God would never give us a command without giving us the means of fulfilling it.

Mature? Doesn’t seem scriptural, unless mature and perfect are interchangeable. Are they? Does anyone care to change The Word?

Truth=God=Perfection anything less is not of Him. That is a reason why God revealed to His Church Imperfect Reconciliation.

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, (as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but much more now in my absence,) with fear and trembling work out your salvation.
Tweetymom, we must keep Watch, do penance working out our salvation with fear and trembling and even if we do these things, and yet still, we cannot judge ourselves and say that we are Now saved! Again, remember there is Only One Judge! Amen.

Tweetymom, there must be many who say “Lord, Lord,” today and Judge themselves “Now Saved!”? Only the Lord Knows and Only He can be the Judge of that!

I have not called you rude because you disagree with me, I call you rude because you are. I see much spirityual on most of your posts. I have read my Bible and do so everyday and have for over 40 years. Sorry you won’t know until you die.

I hate to rain on your parade, but Matthew 7 goes on to say, remove the speck from your eye before you remove the log from your neighbor’s. So in fact the Bible does call on us to judge ourselves (probably more harshly than others).
Hmm… mine says repent. μετανοέω; metanoeō;
What if a person has already worked out their salvation?
Not everyone like the Baha’i who believe in Christ? Or the Muslims who acknowledge Jesus? Or the Mormons who follow a false prophet? Or the Jews who do follow God but not Christ? Who do you think he means?

We believe those words, yet the Bible has Jesus saying many more words, “Eat my body, drink my blood” be baptized, help the poor, be meek.
Since the Bible does not contradict itself, “belief alone” is not sufficient.

Perfection usually does not happen while a person is still alive on earth. Perfection usually is not achieved until a person is purified by fire in purgatory/prison by the consuming fire of God. Hebrews 12:29
Hebrews 12:23
to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,
These spirits of just men were made perfect by God.
Jesus went to preach to the spirits in prison/purgatory during the time between His death and resurrection:
1 Peter 3:18-20
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, 19 by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, 20 who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
These formerly disobedient people repented while they were drowning in the flood of Noah’s time period. They had already been in purgatory/prison for about 2000 years (earth time) before Jesus went to preach to them. They were still being perfected (purged by fire from their imperfections) when Jesus went to preach to them in purgatory/prison. 1 Corinthians 3:15, Luke 12:57-59
It was taking this long for them to be purged/perfected because they had no time to do good works/bear fruits worthy of repentance before they died. Matthew 3:8

But work is not required. The only requirement is belief. The catholics know this to be true because one of your very saints is a no-works saint.
The CC just doesn’t like to project it. The way the message is, you will work because of faith, not you need to work for faith.

In a sense you are correct. But we don’t believe that faith automatically causes us to do good. We believe that doing good works is a REQUIREMENT of faith. The Sacraments give us the graces and strength we need to persevere. As our assoc pastor say, “Faith is a verb.”

It doesn’t name them by name in Scripture (public revelation). They are called the “two witnesses” in Scripture. Revelation 11:3-12
The Jews will recognize them as holy prophets from God and so then these Jews will become Christians because of these two witnesses’ testimony, death, resurrection, and ascension. This is when the “remnant” of Israel is finallly saved. Romans 9:27-28
These two witnesses are named in Catholic prophecy (private revelation). (We do not have to believe private Catholic revelation in order to be a Catholic in good standing with the Church. But, it does enrich our faith.)
Revelation 6:9-11
A person can only die once. Hebrews 9:27 These two witnesses have never died before and they will die at the hands of the Antichrist according to private Catholic prophecy.
