Now did you ask forgiveness from God for telling that lie?Why or why not did you ask for forgiveness? On ocassion i do have a potty mouth, for which i hang my hand in shame and ask forgiveness for using such language.i beleive it was also St.Paul who said something to the effect that such language should not come from the same tongue that praises God.I’m not totally sure, but I told a lie today; would that be bearing false witness? Whichever binds alcohol must not apply to my catholic frien/co-worker. He is giving up alcohol for Lent, but says the day after Easter, he and about ten(10) friends are having a beer blast, and they will get wasted! He says they do it every year. And while I don’t use foul language(do you?) I sometimes think it. And I am not without sin, even though I am saved! I could echo Paul’s words where he said,“For it is not I who sin, but the sin within me.”

It is your contention that all sin is equal, so then by telling that lie you have become a murderer, adultrous,…you have broken all the commandments.
Perhaps you could remind your friend that it is considered by the Church a sin to get delibrately wasted as he has plannned.
