What if each and every soul here endeavored, with the grace of God, to live the following prayer every day of the New Year:
For a long time now I have been pondering this, and I thought to post it here in case anyone else would like to give it a try along with me.
***Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may seek not so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love, for it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Can you imagine the difference we could make in our domestic church, in our parish church, in our country? Every good action we do has a ripple effect as well as every not so good action.Amen.***
