It was no surprise to read Professor Terry Eagleton’s acidulous observation: “Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology.”
These paragraphs tells us alot about Richard Dawkins and his best seller “The God Delution”. Lengthly rebuttal but well-stated.But then, what need of scholarship when in possession of a superior intellect like yours! You are described on the book’s dustjacket as “one of the world’s top three intellectuals”. Not a peer-group verdict, but the opinion poll of a small-circulation, avowedly atheistic, British monthly.
Good rebuttal but the author of the article’s political and liberal prejudices do seep in from time to time…but, he does point out the many obvious flaws in Dawkin’s book.
I think it referred to the July 7, 2005 London subway bombings, committed by Islamic jihadists.I just read the first linked rebuttal. Sweet.
What was the 7/7 he was referring to?
