My question for you is, when Jesus talks of the Spirit of Truth coming, was he merely prophesizing that Muhammad was going to becoming 600 years later? Why would he call him a “spirit” and not a “person”? Also, does that mean that everything else in John’s gospel regarding Jesus’s divinity is not true? Does that mean that here when Jesus is explaining that the spirit of truth coming because he’s about to die and wants to assure his disciples that they’ll figure stuff out that that didn’t really happen? Does that mean that only this verse is relevent and the rest of the Gospel of John is false? Does this mean that Jesus was wrong in stopping the stoning of the woman in the Gospel of John because Muhammad later advocates stoning in some circumstances? Does this mean that the morality established by Jesus and his apostles in the 1st century regarding the equality of sexes and not having to worry about eating certain foods and stuff was imperfect and just for a short period of time until Muhammad came along and overrode the things that Jesus changed temporarily? Or, does this mean that somehow, systematically, after all the books of the New Testament were written, there was some sort of massive organized conspiracy to “edit” them and “corrupt” them and add a bunch of stuff around where Jesus is talking about a “spirit of truth” to come up with some non sense that this is actually the Holy Spirit? Does this mean that Allah likes to waste time and establish a true religion but then have it flop and need to be replaced later? If so, then you’re beginning to sound a lot like a Mormon in the fact that you’re making these really far stretches and kind of just throwing some random verses out there to suit your own meanings without respecting the original meaning or trying to understand the text as a whole?
