Here Jesus doesn’t eat at all, but if he did, he also ate bread.

I have no idea how to c&p on my Kindle but i read a lot that says that Jesus’ Shroud was left laying like a shell, indicating He emerged from it, through it when He rose from the dead.

We don’t know how the shroud was left exactly.

Also, it wasn’t that the guards in fact fell asleep, but they were falsely accused of falling asleep and beaten. It was Pilates way of trying to put down the talks about Jesus rising from the dead.

How do we know they didnt fall asleep?
 
How do we know Jesus’ body wasnt stolen the night before the guard was placed at the tomb?

And besides “its our faith”, how do we know for certain the guards didnt fall asleep? In the movie they looked very relaxed.

Or do we know because of Jesus’ appearances?
If so, how can we be certain it was Jesus they saw? In the movie there was talk about a look alike body to be used to prove He was still dead. Whos to say there wasnt a look alike Jesus appearing to the 500 from a distance or at even close range? At first He wasnt recognized, remember?

An imposter couldn’t suddenly appear in a room as Jesus did with the Apostles.

Human bodies can’t pass through walls.

Also, the imposter would’ve had to put nail holes into his hands and feet and a spear wound into his side.

Lastly, when Jesus took bread, blessed it and broke it, they remembered the Last Supper he had with them before his death.

Okay, I guess episode three had me a little disappointed, in that it left out a few thing I believe to be critical in favor of embellishing stories I find less important. But hey, that is all just opinion. I am glad that they have this on TV and it is doing so well.

Our entire faith is and has always been based on that. The events and actions described in Acts confirms it. The gospels are highly reliable historical documents. Our faith is well grounded, and has repeatedly been proven true for 2000 years, up to and including today.

Christianity isn’t based on the Shroud of Turin, etc, Faith. Our faith and the reasons for it are set forth in the gospels. From your questions, I don’t think you ever have (and if you’re a Catholic, you’re FAR from being alone). I’d suggest you read them along with some good commentaries about them, including why they’re historically accurate.

Begin with the gospel of Matthew and continue through to the Book of Revelation.

It’s not necessary to read the book of Revelation.

Before you begin, always ask the Holy Spirit to guidance.

Treat the Bible as prayer more than just for intellectual curiosity.

If He didn’t appear to the apostles and others, how would anyone know He had risen?? Why would they go to the ends of the earth and to a life of hardship, persecution and almost certain death preaching that He had? Christianity would have died with Christ–because Christ didn’t preach a “group hugging” movement (although listening to some Catholics including some priests you’d think He had), He preached Himself–“I Am the way, the truth and the life”–“Before Abraham was, I Am”. “I Am” is the name for Himself that God revealed to Moses in Exodus. Christ preached that He was God–the second Person of the Trinity. The apostles and others who He appeared to knew that He had risen which confirmed what He said about Himself.

The Old Testament is also full of prophesies about Christ, from beginning to end. He fulfilled them all.

You really should read the gospels.

Still, some people, many Jews and others, believe that His body was somehow stolen while the guards fell asleep.

Then one must determine who would have stolen it. No one had any motive, except the disciples, all but one were martyred. Now human nature tells us that people can lie, and even be willing to take a lie to the grave. But few, much less eleven for eleven, would be willing to be tortured and die to maintain a fabrication, not for the sake of revolution, but for the sake of religion that they would have known to be phony?

The conspiracy that would be involved to have pulled such an act and held the deception to the grave with so many people would have been inconceivable.

And i guess there couldnt have been appearances of Jesus after His death, had someone stolen the body, right?

There’s not a single historical event that some people won’t say either didn’t happen or didn’t happen the way it happened. If you base your life on what “some people say”, you won’t get out of bed in the morning. That’s where personal judgment based on knowledge comes in.

The evidence falls heavily on the Christian side, no matter how the media and pop culture either bury it or ridicule it. Read the gospels for one, read the Catechism and know what you’re talking about. Then make your own judgment. .
