A Deep Respect for Benedict, but It’s Still True Love for John Paul

Me, too! One of the EWTN guest commentators said one way she has heard it concisely put, is that John Paul II made us feel and Pope Benedict XVI makes us think. They both had/have unique strengths to offer the Church. Pope Benedict XVI is the right Pope for our times. 🙂
Indeed. And frankly, I like having a more traditional Pope. I keep hoping that our beloved Pope Benedict XVI will crack down more on liturgical abuses and such.

I believe God gives us the RIGHT pope for the PRECISE RIGHT time. John Paul was wonderful, and very charismatic, Benedict is just as wonderful, not as charismatic but every bit as loving and warm. I really love him. He is trying to bring us back to liturgy that is more grounded without going back to pre Vll. God knows how badly we need that! Yep, the RIGHT pope for the RIGHT time. God is awesome!!👍

I love Pope Benedict XVI more than I do Pope John Paul II. Pope John Paul was wishy -washy in many ways. Pope Benedict is doing more for the Church in the short time he has been Pope to bring about good change.

Pope John Paul had great writings, but they were pretty much ignored in actual practice in the parishes.
Pope Benedict is showing everyone, especially the bishops how things are to be done. He is taking the teaching to the practical level. Pope John Paul just let the bishops ride roughshod over Church teaching on the local level. Yes, there were some theologians who had the rug pulled out from under them by John Paul.
Actually you could say they are a team. Pope John Paul laid the groundwork and Pope Benedict is spreading the teaching down to a lower level of the Church.
