Is it on YouTube or Netflix or anything? I’m now curious.

(Also, am I the only one here who first learned about Scientology from South Park :D?)

The whole “religion” sounds nutty. It’s a cult. Is there ever any mention of God? Why is there a cross of sorts on their buildings. It’s scary that so many people would follow them.

The show is eye opening.
From what I’ve read, they adopted that “cross” as part of the window-dressing in their ultimately successful campaign to get recognized as a “religion,” as well as to provide something seemingly familiar to people initially looking into their organization.

Yes, and though they claim it is a religion, there is never a mention of God.

It sounds more like psychology that you have to pay for, with the feel good promise that you are helping to save the world. They only seem to help themselves feel better, because what have they really actually done?

Wow, Jim, that looks like the mother lode of information! Thanks for the link!

My wife and I have been watching this. There are so many points of evidence that show this thing is a cult. The most recent episode talked about when Scientology got tax exempt status, and how the church made a big deal out of it. Of course, the church had exempt status, but lost it when L. Ron Hubbard was pilfering funds for his own use. The church got it back about 20 years ago. And, what kind of church requires its members to snitch on each other, and pay all kinds of money to “advance” in the religion? The whole thing seems designed to control the members’ thought processes, which they need to do to keep that money train flowing.

I am all the more appreciative of our Church, the freedom God and it gives us. And, it promotes love and family life. From this show, it appears Scientology is intent on destroying those relationships in order to control its members. The whole thing is about power and money. Incredibly sad.

Any religion founded by a science fiction writer with the intent of making a fast buck is bound to be bunk.

I came across Operation Clambake, which seems to have a lot of information on Scientology.

xenu.net/
I might have followed a link from the one above, but if you wanted to know what the auditing is like this is it, plus the cost. That they make children go though this is chilling.

There was a time in my life I could have probably gotten pulled in to Scientology. I think I bought one of his books, but I don’t think I read much of it. Someone had a booth set up at a fair and spoke to me about it. I am glad I didn’t get hooked. I was not a practicing Christian at the time and was really into astrology.
I didn’t realize how wacky it was until I started watching it A&E. Tearing families apart and the tactics it uses for people who speak out against the “church” of Scientology.
IMO I can’t stress enough how bad it is when its founder was involved with the occult and Aleister Crowley

The shows can be watched on youtube.

Not sure if this is the 1st one or not:

A few who had given 30 or more yrs of their lives and realized it was all a scam in one way or another and have left the cult have written books. The immense betrayal they feel is evident on Remini’s show; some may never get to see close family members again.

We need to pray for them, and for the innocents who are being brainwashed in this cult to be rescued. I hope the authorities can bring down Scientology on some kind of racketeering charges or something and it will fall.

Happy Epiphany everyone,
Mimi

Operation Clambake is indeed, a wealth of info on Scientology.

Check this out:
The horrifying real secret of Scientology is not about Xenu or volcanoes.
What the Church of Scientology does not want the public to know is its biggest secret: Scientologists consider that they are Homo Novis, a new and superior Master Race.

Holy. Cow. (no offense meant to Hidus.)

Also interesting - and THIS should give any kind of Christian great incentive to pray for all involved in this cult and try to get this info to anyone they know who is in it:
The first of Hubbard’s secret teachings are from the original OT VIII level. These materials are corroborated by George White who did the original OT VIII level and read the materials himself. White discusses this in his book Lucifer’s Bridge: Scientology’s Lost Paradise. The materials are corroborated by others as well. In the original OT VIII. Hubbard called himself the Antichrist and denounced Jesus as a “lover of young men and boys.”

There is so much more shocking info on this page.
I will remember to pray for these ppl often - they really REALLY need it.

The more I watch this show, the more I think: how can people believe in this nonsense?
How can they not figure out that the whole thing is bogus?

🤷

I think the same thing! Especially when I hear of the money they have to pay the Church of Scientology - thousands and thousands of dollars. That would be a huge red flag to me.

Or the Sea org people joining at 15 years old and signing a billion year contract?

Disconnecting from your family if they leave the cult?

I don’t understand how it is even considered a religion.

The undercover spying and reporting on family and friends. The physical abuse and disrespect by the higher ups and the practice of “fair game.” The ridiculous rallies. And the manner in which its leader took power are all things that point to a negative, deceptive and fake “religion.” They claim to do great things for the world but force people to break ties with their own families. That sounds very hypocritical.

I agree. I wonder if any people who have joined were once baptized Christians? I guess maybe Leah was. Were they rejecting Christianity or were they thinking Scientology gives them more answers?

I can’t believe the IRS gave them the same status as other religious
organizations.

people.com/books/leah-remini-talks-embracing-catholicism-after-scientology/

I always wondered if she was Catholic at an earlier point in life because she comes from an Italian family. Hard to believe she walked away from the Catholic Church to be a Scientologist, but she was a child. I am glad to see she is coming home.
I think I read after she left Scientology she brought her daughter into the Catholic church because that is the church she was raised in. I might be wrong so if someone knows different please correct me.

That is what the link says too.
oh, I didn’t even read the link. I think I heard this before her show even started.

hopefully, this show will prevent potential new members from joining.

The Sea Org and the billion year contract would have been a clue for me that something was not right.
