Yes, thank you!I guess to be technical, love is not a choice or a feeling. Love is a virtue. And God is Love.
Love does require an exercise of the will. But it is not reducible only to that.
I have to admit that I get kind of frustrated with the tag line “love is a choice not a feeling” because, while there is a lot of truth behind it, if taken at face value, it is actually incorrect. This kind of phrasing can lead people to believe that emotional and physical attraction is completely unimportant in marriage, which is ridiculously false and sets up any couple that buys into it for a very very difficult marriage.
