Just began the audio book.

Other readers want to discuss the book?

I would not give James Comey a penny of my money.

For some reason, I don’t think this is the type of discussion you were looking for.

Former FBI Director James Comey made a glaringly false claim about the infamous Steele dossier in a recent interview with ABC News.

Comey told interviewer George Stephanopoulos that the FBI was unaware of the salacious and unverified dossier until after the bureau formally opened its counterintelligence investigation of President Donald Trump’s campaign.

The investigation was opened on July 31, 2016. Comey is contradicted by extensive reporting that dossier author Christopher Steele provided the FBI with information from his dossier on July 5, 2016.

There has also been reporting that the information was almost immediately passed to the FBI’s counterintelligence division, which would later oversee the Trump probe.

It is unclear why Comey got the timeline so wrong. Several parties, including the FBI, Justice Department, and Democrats, have tried to downplay the significance of the dossier to the FBI’s collusion investigation. That’s possibly because the dossier remains largely unverified more than 15 months after it was published by….

Democrats, Republicans, and independents have reasons to critique and be cautious toward Mr. Comey. So let’s not jump to too many conclusions here.

Personally, I’ve had about enough of this whole Washington drama. I have no interest in diving headlong into every detail of it. So, no, I won’t be reading Mr. Comey’s book. I’ve gotten the general outlines of it based upon his interviews and media coverage. I’d much rather focus on what is going on around the world and the real issues and crises we face at home and abroad.

Judging by his interview with George Stephanopolos, it’s clear now that he was and is personally and professionally biased against Donald Trump so no, I will not be reading a book by a man who supports Hillary and the Women’s March for Abortion. 😒

I’ve read a few extracts but I haven’t bought the book. What do you think of it, OP?

I only had about 30 minutes of time on my lunch break, will really dig in this evening!

James Comey is an inept leader who bungled the investigation, possibly helped lose the election for Hillary, then tried to redeem himself coming out against Trump and after all the buildup ended up being the testimonial equivalent of Geraldo opening Al Capone’s vaults. No way would I spend money on anything he wrote.

Im grateful he was willing to tell his story regardless of the pushback he is bound to give and that will effect his family. That takes courage.

For someone with a higher calling, he’s taking the low road with the tone he chose to use in this book. Maybe he had something that needed to be said, but by the excerpts he elected include unnecessary personal attacks concerning things that have nothing to do with his thesis concerning the President’s fitness for office.

When you allow your personal animosity to be so obvious, it undercuts whatever you had to say that was a professional rather than a personal difference.

Discourse in American politics have gone down yet another notch.

In my experience, when some has angered both sides, they are worth a listen!

I’d have more sympathy for her if it weren’t that I know she can follow rules to the letter if she wants to do it. For some reason, she thought the rules of cybersecurity either did not apply to her or that national security was secondary to her personal sense of privacy. Both assumptions are dead wrong and a negative with regards to the qualities of the President.

IOW, it is not as if any information got out that the voters had no right to include in their deliberations. She was acting as a public servant. If she didn’t like the timing of the revelations, well, she was free to come clean and do damage control a lot earlier. The strategy of keeping it all under wraps and hoping it didn’t get out didn’t work so well for her.

Likewise, if the President has been up to contacts with the Russians, I see no reason he ought to keep that under wraps. If there is nothing wrong with it, why fight disclosure so much? He seems to think that once he was elected the whole nation revolves around him. Someone has surely explained to him that it goes the other way around. If he doesn’t like that, well, no one forced him into public service, either. He wanted to hear “Hail to the Chief” everywhere he went; now he gets all that goes with it. (His friends tried to warn him.)

Whoa. There are a lot of pro-life people who do not think the President has acting in a way fitting to his office. You can think Donald Trump is a loose cannon and an embarrassment to his office and his country without suddenly becoming an advocate for abortion! He doesn’t get carte blanche for anything he can think up to do or say just because he nominated Neil Gorsuch.

Well said!🙌 I agree. Wholeheartedly that Comey has exposed himself bigtime and it ain’t pretty!

President Trump isn’t perfect but neither was Hillary Clinton (as we know). I was actually more of a Ted Cruz supporter, but Donald Trump is the lesser of two evils. The difference is that Hillary Clinton was incompetent and for abortion up until birth. Comey let a fake Dossier by the same biased investigative firm that “cleared” Planned Parenthood when the Center for Medical Progress videos came out be the basis for spying on the future President. Comey is disgraceful and he has outed himself(finally) as being biased from the beginning.

Yes, well, she lost. There is good reason to hope that her political career is over. If the President is allowed to do whatever he wants to do and makes a mockery of the Presidency, that is not going to make his party look as if they have the best interests of the nation at heart. When the President doesn’t act in the best interest of the nation, he shouldn’t get support. It can’t just be people who were bummed on Election night calling him out on how unacceptable it is to act in unacceptable ways.

You do realize, by the way, that if the President habitually does things that really are unacceptable, it isn’t “biased” to judge his fitness for office in a negative way? It is only bias when a negative impression was not earned.

I just got a book in the mail “ Dogma of Hell “
