Hello all. I need a little help. Now, this may sound weird but I have been struggling and praying through the decision to move towards a more “orthodox” church be it an Anglican, Catholic, whatever church fits that bill for quite a while. The issue, however, is my wife. She and I believe pretty much the same when it comes to core doctrine (i.e, doctrine that tends to be shared between “orthodox”. I know of no other name to use for the umbrella that Catholic and Anglican churches fall under), but she isn’t a big fan of those sorts of churches.
Now, she is NOT against Catholics or Anglicans in any shape or form. It’s just that types of services are not really her cup of tea. She percieves them to be sort of boring, and at times I feel the same way, but I believe that depends on which “orthdox” church you attend. How in the world am I supposed to handle this? The problem is that the churches around us like those are quite “old” (i.e., no people or our age there which makes it kind of hard to connect with Christians who have much in common with young folks with a brand new baby). How should I approach this? I want us to be where we can make connections and grow together as a family, but that is very hard to do when there is not a whole lot offered to you. HELP!
Please not that I have nothing against older people
; they are awesome, but we don’t have much to share with one another, and we all know that we need people we can relate to. Give me some advice, please, but try and not prostelytize. I’d like to try and not have an arguement about denominations here.
