Cindy Sheehan is making a lot of men sick. They increasingly prefer hard-kicking, licentious womyn, totally indoctrinated by Rambo men into the nihil. These men have begun to enjoy the spectacle of women carrying automatic weapons over their camouflage, fighting house to house in the Sunni Triangle. Women who feel proud to leave their children(1) to fight—thanks to radical feminism, poverty and TV propaganda. The indoctrination complete, they can go to Iraq to prove that they can do “anything a man can do”----even torture prisoners----as Private Lynndie England became famous for.

Yep… Lara Croft is my hero.😉

But seriously this is nothing new, never heard about the Amazons?

Yes, we have also seen plenty of attempts to lift women up by degrading men. What a trashy article. It is the feminization of society that is majorly contributing to our current crisis and the creeping soft totalitarianism.

What would Mary do? What did she do, when her son sacrificed his life? Instead of holding Cindy Sheehan up as some kind of archtype of female perfection as though she represents the only alternative to macho “womyn” we should compare her actions to those of a truly perfect woman. Is she following Mary’s example?
Mind you, I’m not saying her son was perfect and Christlike; but imitating Christ was* his *responsiblity, and the degree to which he failed or succeeded in doing so does not excuse his mother from conducting herself according to the highest moral standards. After all, Mary could have spent the remainder of her life sitting outside of Pontius Pilate’s house demanding to know why her son died; but for some reason, she didn’t.

Another piece of trash flowing from the pen of Stephen Hand. What a surprise…

You should be ashamed. Stephen is one of the most loyal Catholics writers you’ll find on or off the web. What I like about Steve is he actually reads the Gospels and the teachings of the Church and tries to apply them to his life and to encourage others to do the same. If you think his writings, which are consistant with the Gospels and the teachings of the Church, are trash, then I think a little self-reflection is in order.

Sheehan lost her son in Iraq and now she’s being demonized for speaking the truth
This part of the article really had me going… :rotfl:

When will the anti-war segment realize that Sheehan went berserk and delirious because of the death of her son. She does not need a bunch of people telling her she’s right in her conclusion of hating Bush and all his supporters. She needs love, support, and a lot of help. Cindy responded to her son’s death by hatred and it is not a healthy response. But the left is standing by her, feeding fuel to the hatred. This is the standard response by the left. If your passion helps their agenda, they’ll support you. They do the same to sick perverts. If a man like to dress in women’s clothing because he gets a high out it, the left support his sex change operation… instead of the common sense thing to do - get the crazy person some help.

What exactly has Sheehan done that is so horrible? So she does not agree with the war…big deal. She makes a good point btw: what exactly is the noble cause in Iraq?

She can disagree with the war. As far as I am concerned, her repeated changes in the stories about events in her life, her son’s life and the nation’s life tend to get on my nerves. But I don’t look at her as a politian. Just a mom with political opinions.

No shame felt here. It is obvious if you read these forums that there are Catholics who are do not support the war in Iraq and there are those who do. Whether or not this war is a “just war” and conforms to the “Just War doctrine” found in the Catechism is part of the debate that is occuring.

Your condescending tone serves no purpose.

Its unfortunate that you and other libs take the position that Cindy Sheehan’s views are not up for debate, or that Steven Hand’s opinions are not up for debate. I’ve read the Just War doctrine, and after much soul searching and prayer, cannot come to the conclusion that the war is “Unjust”. Some good Catholics agree with my stance, and some good Catholics disagree with my stance.

hildebrand,

Why is having an opinion an evil thing? She thinks Bush is a terrorist, so what? Bush is not a terrorist, but she has every right to think he is.

Where did I say it was evil? I said she needs love, support, and help because of the loss of her son. Blind support for anything and everything she says because she is hurting will be of no avail to her in the long run.

gilliam,

I think we make media monsters out of people like Sheehan because we give her a larger voice then she deserves.

hilderbrand,

I know you never said she was evil…yet many people are painting her that way and it is wrong. We can never move forward if we constantly look at our neighbors as enemies. We are all Americans with differing points of view.

I really feel bad for her, read my posts in the thread “Cindy Sheehan”.

I was responding to the article… making her into a hero. I strong oppose such notions.

I think the article was trash because it was convoluted and difficult to follow. It was offensive because he seemed to imply that women have no place in the military and perhaps no place outside the home.

At any rate, although I disagreed with the invasion, I appreciate your message. You appear to be one of the sane ones around here.

The reason why I said this was because while I was reading the following article I thought the left was doing the same with Cindy Sheehan. The left’s doctrine is “as long as you don’t hurt anyone… anything goes”. So instead of treating people who need help. The left ignores their problems, denies the problems exist, and praises the person for giving into their impulse.

(the last sentence of Paul McHugh’s article sums it up)
Cindy’s actions and words does not equal sex change operation, but the liberal reaction to really assist the person, or lack there of… is pretty similar. The liberals forget you can also be hurting yourself.

hilderbrand,

I agree, she is no hero. I don’t think she should be given time at all. She is a tortured morther of a fallen hero, her mind is not clear and people should realize that and let her get on with her life in anyway that she can. May the Lord heal her soul and heart and mind.

Well said.

BTW, sorry if I was uncharitable for laughing at the article. Laughing is probably not appropriate for this situation.
