Thank you everyone for helping me and answering me so quickly. I will discern what to do with it then. Sorry if the topic was not allowed. It is being/has been a very interesting discussion.
To be honest, I have taken the gift more like a reminder or a sign. Today’s reading was The Prodigal Son and the Mass was focused on mercy. Yesterday was Joseph and his brothers.
I am struggling with the concet of self-worth for some time. After prayer and reflecting, I think I have to take a step into a new stage on my life and in my faith, yet it is not going to be easy.
It is hard for me embracing the idea that my worth comes from God’s Love and being created in His own image and likeness, and only focusing on His Infinite Love and Goodness instead of my inner turmoil. Trusting completely in the Lord in the midst of the storm and letting go of my anxieties sure is also a challenge for me.
Nonetheless, when one has lost everything one enjoyed or had, when one is more dead inside than alive, what the world has to offer anymore? What can inspire worry, fear or anxiety anymore if one has nothing to lose, nothing to gain? Joy and Peace are from the Holy Spirit. Achievements or material possessions won’t provide those gifts. Just being created because of Love and being loved is what matters at the end of the day.
I am starting to think that the depression, the losings, the sufferings and anxieties were and are the path I had to walk to realize what truly matters and what not. Who knows, although I feel like it is the time to slowly moving on. Probably I have to learn and embrace the lesson first.
‘‘This son of mine was dead, and he has come to life again.’’ In conclusion, it is likely that the gift of the handkerchief is one of those little ways in which the Lord speaks to all of us (a reminder of His Love and Mercy) (Our Blessed Mother as well) and maybe I was paying too much attention to the form of the message. My personal view.
Sorry if the post seems a bit off or too long, I just think that it made clearer the point. Thank you again to those who take the time to reading this and to those who have participated.
