My friend,
Is God’s Mercy infinite? Does it have boundaries or limits?
God Bless you,

I guess it depends by what you mean as boundaries or limits:My friend,

From a human standpoint or vantage we can have no conception of the boundaries of God’s Mercy and Compassion. He is the Merciful and Compassionate…My friend,
Is God’s Mercy infinite? Does it have boundaries or limits?

God is infinitely merciful, but also infinitely just. There are sometimes when He cannot be merciful: such as when we reject Him, then He must leave us to face justice ourselves. Is God’s Mercy infinite? Does it have boundaries or limits?
Well God is infinite. So I’d posit that an infinite God has infinite mercy to offer. Whether God offers that infinite mercy to us is a different question. A question that I believe depends on us.My friend,

That my friend is a wise post rely. Thank youI guess it depends by what you mean as boundaries or limits:
If you mean can God’s mercy ever run out? No that is impossible…
If you mean everyone receives the same amount of mercy from God, then no.
Exodus 33:19 English Revised Version referenced in Romans 9:15
And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, **and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
**
That IS thee truth; but is it the COMPLETE truth:shrug:Mercy without justice is the mother of dissolution, justice without mercy is cruelty
For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you.c
I think these two cut and pasted statements mean that one will receive only as much mercy as one has given out.
For the sake of discussionYeah, God is merciful to everyone insofar as everyone deserves punishment for their sins, but He chooses to give us opportunities to seek Him. That’s a general kind of mercy that everyone reicieves [from God]. If we all got what we deserved, we’d be toast. “If Allah were to punish men for their wrong-doing, He would not leave, on the (earth), a single living creature…” (Qur’an 16:61)
Everyone recieves that kind of mercy, but there’s another kind of mercy that only muslims get; that is the forgiveness of sins and nearness to God. At that point, He interacts with you based on the clean slate he’s given you-- not based on the sins you’ve committed in the past.
THAT my friend is an extremely CHRISTIAN post!God is infinitely merciful, but also infinitely just. There are sometimes when He cannot be merciful: such as when we reject Him, then He must leave us to face justice ourselves.

I don’t think I understand the questions you posed. Obviously, I believe that God judges someone according to His law and the primary source for that is the Qur’an. We have oral traditions as well, known as Hadith, but hadiths are not on the same level as the Qur’an because the Qur’an is revelation-- hadiths were compiled by fallible men. Sunni and Shi’a Hadith are different, but they both believe in the clarity and sufficiency of the Qur’an.For the sake of discussion
What then is the relationship between GOD"S Mercy and God;s Justice?
Can God judge “YOU” {not personally} on a different set of standards than “Me”?
Blessings,
PJM

The standard is the same for you and I, because Shariah doesn’t change; interpretations may change, but the law itself is already established and complete.
The limits are only our* own*-our willingness to accept it.My friend,

What is the link between mercy and forgiveness? Matthew 12:32 states that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. My friend,
Is God’s Mercy infinite? Does it have boundaries or limits?

OK, now I understand.THANK you!
Asked another way:
Can one overrule or dominate the other?
God Bless you,
Patrick
Hmmmm,The limits are only our* own*-our willingness to accept it.
Would you agree that ANY and ALL sins CAN be forgiven if repented? What is the link between mercy and forgiveness? Matthew 12:32 states that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks against the holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
Yes, save blasphomny against the Holy Spirit.Would you agree that ANY and ALL sins CAN be forgiven if repented?
God Bless you
