I like lent & Easter too!! Not that I don’t love Christmas and other Holy days/seasons but for some reason lent & Easter are my favorite. I think it has something to do with the fact that I’m a convert and of course came into the church at Easter so its kind of an “anniversary time” for me and also I guess I feel closer to the Lord during lent because I usually spend more time praying, sacrificing time, and other things in order to reflect on the meaning of the season.

I’m not married, and I’d love to be a Cappuchin, or some other cloistered order.
Perhaps even an Anchorite. But, alas, I am 63 years old, way over the age limit.

This question might seem obvious to most, but I do not understand how the start of Lent is determined.
I am not complaining but why is it starting so early this year?
