A muslim example of an ideal mother

Really it’s to bad. I had relatives who fought with the Canadians in WWII when we were on the same side against tyranny. Now Canada persecutes Christianity and tolerates islamic extremism. Ironic that you are actually helping the modern equivalent of fascists while calling us fascist for fighting them.
It’s funny how relativists always seek to ignore ‘intent’.

If I fight back in self-defence my actions are different because my intent was not to harm someone, in the first place. When Moslems attack and people defend themselves they’re not in the same category as the Moslems who attacked

Our friend Eden made some comments the other day about martyrdom that I miised but wish to comment upon:

**There are several errors and points of clarification that I want to make.

Firstly, Islam’s call to its followers to seek out death is implicit in the teaching of jihad.**

You qouted a hadith (which is below) that stated that a believer who fights for God and lives will receive booty and the one who is killed will receive Paradise.

Where in this hadith does it say to actually want to get killed?

Also, please remember that not all Muslims accept the hadith as an authority for religious doctrine. I personally do not.

**There are many passages calling Muslims to participate in jihad. This one clarifies the outcomes possible:

"The person who participates in (Holy Battles) in Allah’s cause and nothing compels him to do so except belief in Allah and His Apostle, will be recompensed by Allah either with a reward, or booty (if he survives) or will be admitted to paradise (if he is killed). " Al Bukhari vol. 1:35. **

Please not that nowehere in this hadith is it saying go off and deliberately get yourself killed.
**
Secondly, I want to address the contrast between the Muslim martyr and the Christian martyr. One is aggressive, one is passive:**

Let us examine this.

1) The Muslim martyr seeks out their own death and the death of as many unbelievers as possible by blowing themselves up for their faith. They kill themselves.

And this violates the word of God found in the Quran. The Holy Quran says that we are not to destroy ourselves. If we have to fight to see justice and right done, and get killed in the process we will be rewarded by the Lord, however, no where are we commanded to deliberately and willfully get ourselves killed.

Now, someone might say “We’ll BH there are Muslims blowing themselves up contrary to what you say”. This may very well be true but these people have been deceived and follow false doctrine.

Also, a Muslim can be a martyr because he/she was murderer for their faith and does not necessarily have to die in battle.

2) The Christian martyr has an act of murder perpetrated on them by an aggressor because the Christian will not renounce their faith. They are killed by others.

This may very well be true. However, martydom is whatever God says it is and not the Christians or the Muslims.

I agree, so why in the world would Palestinian children’s television shows be broadcasting songs that refer to blood as having a “sweet fragrance”? It’s very disturbing and unnatural.
I am sure it is a poetical device and I would like to actually see the brodcast before commenting more.

If someone is going around literally saying blood smells sweet then they are sick. If they are saying such as a poetical device to describe giving your life up because you obeyed God then that is another matter.

Is the blood of the Catholic martyrs holy and sweet in the sense that they died for doing what they thought was right?

murdering people does not make one a martyr. A martyr is a witness. Not a terrorist. You can call it a false doctrine all you want (and I hope that more and more muslims will come out and say this), but the fact is that Islam obviously leaves room for this interpetation. You have muslim clerics saying as much. And you have muslims dancing in the streets when these acts occur. You have muslim parents bragging about thier children’s sacrifice of thier lives in this manner. The Quran may have a few sentences about how one must not destroy themselves… but it also has loopholes big enough to fly a plane through.

Another Muslim on this forum, from Egypt, told us that only one sect uses the term takkiya, but he acknowleged that it’s a real teaching of Islam.
Humbly speaking----- am I to assume that it is a teaching of Christianity that two men can get married in holy matrimony because a few Episcopal priests say that it is?+ Or that Christianity teaches it is alright to be corrupt because a couple of popes in the past had poor ethics and morals?

I have heard of this takkiya idea before and have asked other Muslims about it. They have never heard of it before and figure it was some sort of slander being passed around.

Yet I have been told that an Egyptian said there is a Muslim sect that believes this. Well, they are as far from the correct teaching of Islam as the Episcopal priests are concerning Christian ideas on marriage who advocate same sex relationships.

There is a such a thing as truth and error and it is possible that a certain so-called sect of Islam has created its own doctrines and practices not found in the Holy Quran and falsley says it is Islam.

He allowed someone to lie, in order to murder another…

Volume 5, Book 59, Number 369:

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:

Allah’s Apostle said, “Who is willing to kill Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf who has hurt Allah and His Apostle?” Thereupon Muhammad bin Maslama got up saying, “O Allah’s Apostle! Would you like that I kill him?” The Prophet said, “Yes,” Muhammad bin Maslama said, "Then allow me to say a (false) thing (i.e. to deceive Kab). "The Prophet said, “You may say it.” Then Muhammad bin Maslama went to Kab and said, “That man (i.e. Muhammad demands Sadaqa (i.e. Zakat) from us, and he has troubled us, and I have come to borrow something from you.” On that, Kab said, “By Allah, you will get tired of him!” Muhammad bin Maslama said, “Now as we have followed him, we do not want to leave him unless and until we see how his end is going to be. Now we want you to lend us a camel load or two of food.” (Some difference between narrators about a camel load or two.) Kab said, “Yes, (I will lend you), but you should mortgage something to me.” Muhammad bin Mas-lama and his companion said, “What do you want?” Ka’b replied, “Mortgage your women to me.” They said, “How can we mortgage our women to you and you are the most handsome of the 'Arabs?” Ka’b said, “Then mortgage your sons to me.” They said, “How can we mortgage our sons to you? Later they would be abused by the people’s saying that so-and-so has been mortgaged for a camel load of food. That would cause us great disgrace, but we will mortgage our arms to you.” Muhammad bin Maslama and his companion promised Kab that Muhammad would return to him. He came to Kab at night along with Kab’s foster brother, Abu Na’ila. Kab invited them to come into his fort, and then he went down to them. His wife asked him, “Where are you going at this time?” Kab replied, “None but Muhammad bin Maslama and my (foster) brother Abu Na’ila have come.” His wife said, “I hear a voice as if dropping blood is from him, Ka’b said. “They are none but my brother Muhammad bin Maslama and my foster brother Abu Naila. A generous man should respond to a call at night even if invited to be killed.” Muhammad bin Maslama went with two men. (Some narrators mention the men as 'Abu bin Jabr. Al Harith bin Aus and Abbad bin Bishr). So Muhammad bin Maslama went in together with two men, and sail to them, “When Ka’b comes, I will touch his hair and smell it, and when you see that I have got hold of his head, strip him. I will let you smell his head.” Kab bin Al-Ashraf came down to them wrapped in his clothes, and diffusing perfume. Muhammad bin Maslama said. " have never smelt a better scent than this. Ka’b replied. “I have got the best 'Arab women who know how to use the high class of perfume.” Muhammad bin Maslama requested Ka’b “Will you allow me to smell your head?” Ka’b said, “Yes.” Muhammad smelt it and made his companions smell it as well. Then he requested Ka’b again, “Will you let me (smell your head)?” Ka’b said, “Yes.” When Muhammad got a strong hold of him, he said (to his companions), “Get at him!” So they killed him and went to the Prophet and informed him. (Abu Rafi) was killed after Ka’b bin Al-Ashraf.”

Again, I do not accept hadith as authoritative nor do many Muslims. The hadith are supposed sayings and practices of the Prophet found outside of the Holy Quran. While some of the hadith may be poosibly from the time of his life and true most came into existence several hundred years after the Prophet’s death. A lot of them were the creation of wicked men to satisfy their own wicked and evil desires. Some of the hadith contradict the Holy Quran as well as each other. For this reason I do not accept them as authority. If there is any truth to any hadith I believe that whatever they say will be complimented and not contradicted by the Holy Quran.

BH, one muslim did that in Oklahoma. They kicked him out and he received death threats. Do you condemn Hamas and Hezbullah?
Do you have a link?

I do not endorse any terrorist group whether it calls itself Muslim, Jewish, or Christian.

Here is a link to many disturbing broadcasts for children:

One example of the idea that blood has a sweet fragrance is in this song with the words “How sweet is the fragrance of the *shahids, *how sweet is the fragrance of the earth, it’s thirst quenched by the gush of blood flowing from the youthful body, how sweet is the fragrance of the earth”.

youtube.com/watch?v=FWmHrCA0v_0

In this instance, the sweet fragrance of the earth comes from the smell of the blood that flowed out onto it from a dead child.

I agree with you 100%. Murdering people and getting killed for it does not make one a martyr.

The Holy Quran says many things about fighting Jihad like not killing innocent people, civilians, surrendering combatants, ect.
Where these supposed nuts are getting their ideas about what God wants is really the devil.

The little duck is talking about avenging his home being destroyed. It is my understanding that Israelis knock down Palestinians homes to build their own on or simply to drive out people not liked. I have never been to ISrael and talked to the Jews or the Palestinians first hand so I don’t know all the details.

The second link is worthless in its content in my opinion. The woman in the film singing isn’t even wearing a hijaab like she is supposed to. If they are so ignorant of Islam so as to put a non-hijaabed woman on it it singing I seriously doubt the rest of their theology is worthy of serious consideration. However, the film never says why the father died nor the circumstances behind it. What was so offensive to you about it? The only thing I find that may be disturbing to you is the qoute where the dead wants the living to be with him in Paradise. No where does it tell the boy to go kill himself to come to heaven though. Paradise is a better place to be and a loving father who is in Paradise will no doubt want his son to come to him there one day but not by going off and blowing up himself and innocent people.

Specifically, the chick/duck is asked what he would do to a little boy if he came and cut the trees down in front of his house. His response, on a children’s program, was that he would “fight him and make a big riot, call the whole world and make a riot, I’ll bring AK-47s and the whole world, I’ll commit a massacre in front of the house.”

The second one, I believe, is a Palestinian song and music video with an actor playing the role of a real boy whose *real *death by the Israeli army was aired on Palestinian TV.

There are many videos from my first link that encourage children to seek martyrdom and, as a side effect, it teaches them to worship death. This video was unusual in that it does not show the brainwashing of children to encourage them seek death. This video shows a 3-year-old girl referring to Jews as “apes and pigs”. This girl is praised as a good and devout Muslim:

Eden,

I went back and rewatched the second video. you are correct. It appears the boy was killed and is crying out to his father. It wasn’t a case of the father dying and the boy longing to be with him in Paradise like I thought.

My bad.

I haven’t been to Israel to examine the situation firsthand so I don’t know who is right or wrong—Jew or Palestinian.

If the Jews are acting justly then the Palestinians are wrong to want to kill them.

If the Palestinians are oppressed then they have the right to fight back though they have to do so according to the rules of the Holy Quran.

Cynic that I am, it is more than likely both sides have some wrong and some right which makes things even more complicated.

This video at least had the women wearing their hijaab.

Where does it say in the Holy Quran that Jews are apes and pigs? I think we have stumbled on the TBN version of Muslim tv.

That is just wrong,wrong, wrong!

It is a very frustrating situation, for muslims and non-muslims alike. I’m sure you don’t relish haveing every discussion about your religion end up revolving around terrorism.

I responded to your earlier posts assuming I knew where you stood and what rhetoric you were going to repeat. I apologize for that.

if you really dont believe this form of racial hatred is acceptable why dont you go get your catholic priest to oppose it publiclly in his sermons!!!
Um…the KKK is anti-Catholic. I have never heard of a Catholic “praising” the actions of the KKK or other White Power Protestant groups.

This page discusses the relevent passages from the Quran:

answering-islam.de/Main/Authors/Arlandson/jew_apes.htm

One of the last clips on this video of children’s shows is of an Iranian claymation program that has Jewish vendors turning into apes:

youtube.com/watch?v=_hBuiSP8X6E
Thank you for your links. Notice that Jews themselves are not apes and pigs but certain sabbath breakers among Jews were turned into apes and swine. There is a big difference between saying all Jews are pigs and apes and saying that God turned certain of the sabbath breakers into such.

As for the ones advocating children go off and kill innocent people they should be outlawed. I also believe Allah has a place in hell for such people.

No problemo.

This is the way I see it. You have idiots going around teaching horrible things in the name of Christianity yet no one here would say I was right to assume Christianity was a false religion because of that. What it seems to me is that you have a few evil people who call themselves Muslim who are perverting the Holy Quran (plus using corrupted hadith) to deceive for their own selfish ends ignorant people. I assume they are ignorant for they could be evil too. What these people do do not prove Islam itself to be false.

No one has offended me here in the least and I am glad that people like Eden are helping fight such thugs.

TURNING and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?
