I believe that his personal opinions reflect the evangelical attitude of the believers in Christ.
There is a difference between a Pope who speaks infallibly on faith and morals in an official sense as compared to his personal opinions. We are not required to believe in the personal opinions of any Pope as everyone is capable of error. If Pope Francis today said his personal opinion was that cannibalism was okay, does that mean this opinion “reflects the evangelical attitude of the believers of Christ”?

I affirm that they are in ecclesiastical error as much as in error of communion.
Who knew a parish priest could decide if someone is in “ecclesiastical error and error of communion” because they disagree with someone’s opinion… this priest has no authority to make such a claim, he isn’t the Magisterium and I doubt he’s a canon lawyer

I believe that the Holy Ghost speaks to the Church through him
And so one of the things that we get wrong, it’s kind of this expectation that every word the pope says is going to be carefully chosen and is guided by the Holy Spirit for the illumination of the church and that is the best way it could have been said or some variation of that, and that’s just not something we’re promised, not something we’re guaranteed. If that happens, great, that’s wonderful. But if you’re expecting that, I think that you’re in for a world of hurt in a way

I believe in his magisterium,
From the CCC: 85: “…This means that the task of interpretation has been entrusted to the bishops in communion with the successor of Peter, the Bishop of Rome.”

For that reason alone I would not go along with the priest’s “creed”.

I have no clue as to what might be going on “behind the scenes”; possibly there is some disagreement between the priest’s bishop and something which the Pope has said, and if there is, one has to question 1) what the disagreement is about and 2) whether the matter is about faith and morals per se, something else entirely, or something which may appear to be about faith and morals but is a matter of personal opinion/prudential judgement (e.g. the issue of the Pope’s statement on capital punishment).

This sounds very close to papolatry to me, if it isn’t already papolatry.

“I believe that his personal opinions reflect the evangelical attitude of the believers in Christ.”
How could someone seriously speak this declaration with a straight face?

Seriously?

We can’t even know what a given pope’s “personal opinions” are, unless he tells us. And even then, we’re literally allowed to disagree with them. A pope is promised infallibility when he speaks ex cathedra, not impeccability or excellence of personal opinions. And any given pope (like any other human person) will have lots of personal opinions. We might agree with some but disagree with others.

This declaration sounds absurd, to me. Trying to whip up some kind of cult of personality, where one is obligated to conform even to the leader’s personal opinions, beyond what the religion actually teaches? Clericalism™.

I would be on the floor LOL.
Not quite. Only after the Recessional Hymn for which I offer the following suggestion:

What the heck is this?!?!?!? She is literally singing that the Church had lost her way until Pope Francis, “the chosen one” came to restore the Church

This song is total papolatry. If someone sang that about Pope Benedict XVI, JP2, or even St. Peter himself, I would be very disturbed.

Her head movements bother me almost as much as the words.

It was launched in the run-up to the Holy Father’s hit tour of Ireland

Thank heaven Philadelphia had some sense and just limited itself to T-shirts of the Pope standing on the Rocky steps and waving cheesesteaks.

That song is seriously awful!

I think you need to lighten up and get with the times, Tis. This is the future of the Church!

I was distracted by all the clothing and jewelry changes, and the poses and gestures.
