There is a difference between a Pope who speaks infallibly on faith and morals in an official sense as compared to his personal opinions. We are not required to believe in the personal opinions of any Pope as everyone is capable of error. If Pope Francis today said his personal opinion was that cannibalism was okay, does that mean this opinion “reflects the evangelical attitude of the believers of Christ”?
