From Rochester’s (NY) WROC News:
Sister Julie Vieira grew up in Rochester and attended the Aquinas Institute. In July, she created a web blog called, “A Nun’s Life” which details her life as a modern day nun. In it, Sister Julie talks about issues regarding religion, current events and her religious journey. She tackles all kinds of questions people want answered from a web blogging nun. Her parents Fred and Mary are big fans. They log onto her web blog every day. Since she lives in Chicago, her blog keeps her close.

“Here’s this real-life nun and she’s cool. She has a favorite bar, her favorite beer, she’s partial to Canadian beer because of all her schooling in Toronto. She has a cat and she’s going to be doing a triathlon,” said Mary Vieira, Sister Julie’s mother.

“A Nun’s Life” isn’t even a year old and it’s already getting a lot of attention. Sister Julie has done numerous radio interviews and was recently quoted in a Time Magazine article. Sister’s Julie’s story will be featured Friday night on the CBS Evening News “Assignment America,” you’ll have an opportunity to vote.
The blog itself can be found here.

The blog is very interesting"Interesting" is a good word. In the “ask sister” section her response to woman priests seems either uninformed or evasive, and her answer to homosexuality seems outright doublespeak, unless she was ignorant of the dissident group that she linked to.

Strange I found lots of EARTH DAY and GREEN stuff but very little on Faith and what they believe except for saving earth. Sounds New Age to me. But I might be very wrong.

I hadn’t gone thru the whole blog searching for heterodoxy.

The response to a rather angry post about women’s ordination was basically, “Thanks for sharing your feelings” which seems to me an effort to be charitable & non-antagonistic rather than evasive.

As for her post on homosexuality, I’d agree, I hope she is ignorant as to the nature of the group she linked to. Sr. Julie might be well advised to pass on theological or doctrinal questions in the “Ask Sister” section.

Still & all, I thought there was a lot of positive stuff on the blog that I think would attract both Catholics and non-Catholics.
