A Question About Hell

A dream those not suffice a punishment.

In fact it does not suffice any merit/punishment requirement.

You can’t sin or practice virtue in dreams.
Only when you are awake.

The dream is certainly a preternatural attack from demons.

St. Thomas talks about that in the Summa.

But none the less it helps reflect on a reality.
Hell exists and you have to change your life to avoid it.
But if you change just because of fear, you will never truly do it.

St. Theresa of Avila says we have to love God because He is He.
Not because of a promise of Heaven or a threat of Hell.

Pray the Rosary for a start. As well as avoid sins and their occasions.
Yes…but could it be a preview of what is to come if I don’t change ?

That’s how I would look at it. Like the preview Scrooge got before he mended his ways. Hearing someone else’s vision of Hell is what got me to mend mine.

KH, what I still don’t understand is why you would change only if that specific punishment was a preview of what was to actually happen in hell, when there are a thousand and one punishments just as bad!
And apparently, and you admitted this, you would NOT change if it could be demonstrated to you that that scenario in hell would not happen.
You may think that some punishments in hell are not as bad as others, or that as long as it is not THAT bad there, then why change your ways? Do you see the essential fallacy in this kind of thinking, where if hell is truly not as bad as you think it might be, although bad, then it is still not enough to get you to change your life?
It is your choice, but if it were me, I would consider ALL punishments of hell pretty bad…not some as worse than others.

KH, time to move on and get away from the dream/experience and what you are going to do about it…hopefully it was a warning of what might happen…if you have any questions, not about the dream because no one can answer them, then we can help you re next steps and if you are not yet a Christian we can give you that info also…Blessings to you, Paul.

Listen Paul, it is not about the dream that you should be thinking because that is as bad as touching a painting of fire as compared
to the reality of Hell. It is HELL!!! And the worst part isn’t even the physical pain.

You are eternally hated by God. Not a member of the Church. You will never get out and it will never stop.

Do you want to go there or something?
Who cares about what you saw?

What are you going to do is what is important.

Will you be like the rich man of the Gospel?

Will you simply put your head down and walk away from the call to sanctity?

The worst enemy any man ever fought was himself.

Go out and fight!!!

Becky, are you still there, i tried sending you a pm…

You say you belong to an order? Is that Masonic? Have you been dabbling in the occult? If so you could well have had a demonic visitation.

If you are truly frightened & not just ‘messing’ then go see a priest & tell him the truth. Obviously you are getting nowhere here fast. Many people today (because they are not baptised) are open to becoming possessed by evil but more usually it is obsessed with evil via horror movies, ghoul games, ouwija boards & the like.

You probably just need to turn you life around. Remember God doesn’t ‘send’ anyone to Hell you choose that yourself by your earthly lifestyle & rejection of everything that is good.

Hello,

My name is Paul I am 22 years old and I belong to a knightly order in England. I have never thought about hell before until last night when I had a very terrifying dream. I saw the fires of hell and a demon in the foreground, something I am still afraid of . It has told me there are other eternal torments in hell, not just the lake of fire. The demon told me the following as to what awaits me in hell

''You will be brought here on your white horse in your shining armour and we will change you, change you into a pretty girlie who is very white wearing a short blue dress with no underwear with long blonde hair, you will serve each one of us for all eternity as that girlie , your horse shall be castrated, your manhood will be attached to it’s tail. "

I know it has been just a dream on the one hand but it is so vivid, even now, that I remember every detail. I never experienced anything like this before.
I just want to know if this can really be my fate in hell as punishment for my pride ? Is it really possible I would have to endure it forever ?

Thank you in advance for your response,

Paul.
Yes. This is exactly what awaits you. Despite what people here say, you better prepare for it. Your worst nightmare is going to come true. Get acquainted with dresses and long hair as it might help you to survive the eternal torment of hell. Sorry for being blunt, but this is the truth. Christ will not tolerate pride in His kingdom. You will have plenty of time to think about it when running away from demons when being a scared little girl for all eternity that you are on a path to becoming from what I see. No one else is responsible for this. Only you. God will answer your every call if you are just prepared to listen. If not, then prepare for the consequences. If you think it is going to be a cakewalk, just wait. Hell and its demons love proud creatures like you. They make the best targets of their eternal torment.

Knighthorse - will you get a grip !!!

It was a dream - nothing more, nothing less.

Not stop banging on about stuff in hell noone can answer and start sorting your prayer life out and forget it.

👍

There is also 23 minutes and hell and such, I forgot to add. But does it exclude the possibility of the above ? What do you think people ?

Now I’m not so sure that hell exists…so your visions about my fate will never happen.

Does it mean that if I end up in Hell then the above dream can be come my fate for eternity ?
You should read some books on Saint Teresa of Avila, She has written about Hell on three occasion that I know about. She went to hell in physical body, under one of the occurrences she wrote about what she saw, one of the things she saw was a space in hell with her name on it. So it is in fact true that Lucifer has a space for all of the souls here on earth; though it does not necessarily mean that you will be going to there. It is very true what thistle wrote:
If you are Catholic and die in a state of grace then you will be saved. If you are a Catholic and die in a state of mortal sin you will go to Hell.
If you are not a Catholic then you have no assurance you will be saved even if you think you live a good life.
So you should keep that in mind;

Here are some very brief writing from some of the Saint who visited Hell: The Pains Of Hell. Another is the Reality of Hell. If you want to look into getting some books on her I recommend Tan Books.

True but it does not exclude the possibility I have envisioned for KH if he ends up in hell. Very interesting material by the way.

Thank you for your response. I understand what you are saying but my question was more along the lines - can it be the case that hell is more than a lake of fire , can what I have described actually happen there ? Do you agree with people that say most people that die go to hell ?
Revelations of St. Teresa of Avila, Mystic, Confessor, and one of the 33 Doctors of the Church

"While I was at prayer one day, I found myself in a moment, without knowing how, plunged apparently into Hell. I understood that it was Our Lord’s Will that I should see the place which the devils kept in readiness for me, and which I had deserved by my sins. It lasted but for a moment, but it seems to me impossible that I should ever forget it even if I were to live many years.

"The entrance seemed to be by a long narrow pass, like a furnace, very low, dark, and close. The ground seemed to be saturated with water, mere mud, exceedingly foul, sending forth pestilential odors, and covered with loathsome vermin. At the end was a hollow place in the wall like a closet, and in that I saw myself confined. All this was ever pleasant to behold in comparison with what I felt there. There is no exaggeration in what I am saying.

"But as to what I then felt, I do not know where to begin if I were to describe it; it is utterly inexplicable. I felt a fire in my soul but such that I am still unable to describe it. My bodily sufferings were unendurable. I have undergone most painful sufferings in this life, and, as the physicians say, the greatest that can be borne, such as the contraction of my sinews when I was paralyzed, without speaking of other ills of different types – yet, even those of which I have spoken, inflicted on me by Satan; yet all these were as nothing in comparison with what I then felt, especially when I saw that there would be no intermission nor any end to them.

"These sufferings were nothing in comparison with the anguish of my soul, a sense of oppression, of stifling, and of pain so acute, accompanied by so hopeless and cruel an infliction, that I know not how to speak of it. If I say that the soul is continually being torn from the body it would be nothing – for that implies the destruction of life by the hands of another – but here it is the soul itself that is tearing itself in pieces. I cannot describe that inward fire or that despair, surpassing all torments and all pain. I did not see who it was that tormented me, but I felt myself on fire, and torn to pieces, as it seemed to me; and I repeat it, this inward fire and despair are the greatest torments of all.

"Left in that pestilential place, and utterly without the power to hope for comfort, I could neither sit nor lie down; there was no room. I was placed as it were in a hole in the wall; and those walls, terrible to look on of themselves, hemmed me in on every side. I could not breathe. There was no light, but all was thick darkness. I do not understand how it is; though there was no light, yet everything that can give pain by being seen was visible.

"Our Lord at that time would not let me see more of Hell. Afterwards I had another most fearful vision, in which I saw the punishment of certain sins. They were the most horrible to look at, but because I felt none of the pain, my terror was not so great. In the former vision Our Lord made me really feel those torments and that anguish of spirit, just as if I had been suffering them in the body there. I know not how it was, but I understood distinctly that it was a great mercy that Our Lord would have me see with my own eyes the very place from which His compassion saved me. I have listened to people speaking of these things and I have at other times dwelt on the various torments of Hell, though not often, because my soul made no progress by the way of fear; and I have read of the diverse tortures, and how the devils tear the flesh with red-hot pincers. But all is as nothing before this. It is a wholly different matter. In short, the one is a reality, the other a description; and all burning here in this life is as nothing compared with the fire that is there.
Code:
"I was so terrified by that vision – and that terror is on me even now as I write – that though it took place nearly six years ago, the natural warmth of my body is chilled by fear even now when I think of it. And so, amid all the pain and suffering which I may have had to bear, I remember no time in which I do not think that all we have to suffer in this world is as nothing. It seems to me that we complain without reason. I repeat it: this vision was one of the grandest mercies of God. It has been to me of the greatest service, because it has destroyed my fear of trouble and of the contradictions of the world, and because it has made me strong enough to bear up against them, and to give thanks to Our Lord who has been my Deliverer, as it now seems to me, from such fearful and everlasting pains.
"Ever since that time, as I was saying, everything seems endurable in comparison with one instant of suffering such as those I had then to bear in Hell. I am filled with fear when I see that, after frequently reading books which describe in some manner the pains of Hell, I was not afraid of them, nor made any account of them. Where was I? How could I possibly take any pleasure in those things which led me directly to so dreadful a place? Blessed forever be Thou, O my God! And oh, how manifest is it that Thou didst love me much more than I did love Thee! How often, O Lord, didst Thou save me from that fearful prison! And how I used to get back to it contrary to Thy Will.

"It was that vision which filled me with very great distress which I felt at the sight of so many lost souls, especially of the Lutherans – for they were once members of the Church by Baptism – and also gave me the most vehement desires for the salvation of souls; for certainly I believe that to save even one from those overwhelming torments, I would willingly endure many deaths. If here on earth we see one whom we specially love in great trouble or pain, our very nature seems to bid us compassionate him; and if those pains be great, we are troubled ourselves. What, then, must it be to see a soul in danger of pain, the most grievous of all pains, forever? It is a thought no heart can bear without great anguish. Here we know that pain at last ends with life, and that there are limits to it, yet the sight of it moves us so greatly to compassion; that other pain has no ending, and I know not how we can be calm when we see Satan carry so many souls daily away.

“This also makes me wish that, in a matter which concerns us so much, we did not rest satisfied with doing less than we can do on our part – that we left nothing undone. May Our Lord vouchsafe to give us His Grace for that end.”

Gara - will KH become a scared little girl in Hell as punishment for his pride for all eternity … does the above description exclude this form of torment for him ? What do you think ? Let us give him a clear answer.

*I was referring to half of his question. “**can it be the case that hell is more than a lake of fire **, can what I have described actually happen there ?”

The answer to the first part of his question is yes Hell is more than a lake of fire. Will he turn into a little girl if he falls into eternal damnation, the answers is cut and dry NO he will not turn into a little girl.

For his second question “Do you agree with people that say most people that die go to hell ?” I would have to answer that yes I believe so, from the writings of the saints.
*

It is apparent what his fear is, I merely posted what one saint’s experienced was when she visited hell, from there he should be able to compare and contrast if at possible. At least that is how I like to do things, If I had a dream about hell and if the torment was so excruciating that I would be unable to forget it to the day I die, then I would like to see what some of the saints wrote of the particular subject, but then again that is just me. The Above description does exclude his form of torment. It is written by a saint who actually visited hell in physical body and it is the reality of what hell really is like.

His dream was a nightmare, though that does not mean that it means nothing, it truly could have some important meaning. But I don’t think that he actually visited hell, I think that it was his perception of what hell may be like.

Though I understand what your saying, to just keep it cut and dry. Take care and God Bless

So KH can rest assured that the punishment from his nightmare is not going to befall him ? Doesn’t pride merit such punishment ? I believe it does.

Yes but how do we know if our acknowledgment of Christ is enough for Him ? What do you think about people that went to hell and back - is it true or not ?
My condfidence comes from the fact that Jesus went to hell and back. Just as the world has never been the same since the Incarnation of Christ so would hell be altered from his prescence. He went to hell and back for us and was resurrected in victory. We live in light of this fact.
