Wow, that sounds fascinating! I’ve always wanted to visit Germany. Is the beer there as good as I’ve heard? 😃
Well, the air fares are quite high just now, but I heard on the radio today that are expected, should current trends continue, to be lower this fall, so by all means go if possible - it’s a wonderful country.

I’ve never been a beer drinker. Good French and German wines are quite inexpensive, though. You can buy a bottle (.75 liter) of really excellent Bordeaux at any supermarket for under 2 Euro.

If you find yourself in my neck of the woods, the Rhineland, by all means visit Kevelaer, a Wallfahrtsort (pilgrimage town) less than two hours from Düsseldorf by train. It’s like Christmas and Easter combined every day of the year!

Here’s the official website, in German:

…and here’s one in English:

Money’s tight right now – two small children and a husband in college will do that – but maybe someday! 👍

My mom and dad were married on October 21, I was born the following year on November 21.

I was a big Buddy Holly fan. My son was born on his birthday, September 7th.

John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe all died on the 4th of July.

Miracles abound!
And on which of the dates above did the BVM appear, and to whom ?🤷

None of them. None of mine and none of yours.

I think you miss my point. Coincidences happen all the time. Claiming that they are miraculous is silly.

Who claimed they were miraculous and as for being silly, perhaps it was silly for the BVM to appear on the 13th of every month.

hawk, if the best you can do is twist the words of other posters, namely myself, let’s hang it up - that’s just a misuse of the forum.

She didn’t APPEAR at any time. After the first reported incident in May, 1917, there were lots of onlookers each and every month, and none of those onlookers saw ANYBODY other than one another and the three children.

Apparitions are not appearances. Appearances are physical. John McCain and Barack Obama each made several appearances over the past weekend. No one doubts that. Everybody who was there saw them.

Apparitions occur in the mind. As a believer in the supernatural, I would never presume to judge the source of the apparitions we are discussing here. As I’ve said before, I think that a reasonable person, a logical person, would go with the simplest explanation - that they were figments of Lucia’s imagination and she convinced the two younger children.

It’s also very unlikely that the ‘prophecies’ revealed in 1941 were made in 1917.

But as far as I know, illogic is not a sin per se, so you are certainly entitled to your opinion. I give it the same respect that you give mine, no more, no less.

it is very possible that Satan could be influencing individuals who claim to see or hear Mary or the saints. IN fact that is one of the possibilities the Church considers in its careful, prolonged and detailed examination of such claims. It is never possible for the Church herself to be deceived, so when the Church declares such an event to be genuine, or conversely NOT to be of supernatural origin, we may be sure she speaks the truth. We have this assurance from Christ himself.
Hi puzzleannie how are you and everybody?. Ya we have to be very carefull with messages and Apparitions because we must rember that Satan was head of the angles and was a angle of light so he is goin give good messagess like go to mass pray more go tell your sin so you can get forgive etc, he is not goin tell in thses messages and Apparitions hate god or to sin, do want you like once are happy, do with like in life, dont let people but down hurt you etc.

Like this woman get messages and Apparitions in Co. Mayo the RC have disagree with her because she is say and doin like she said that you went to her house of prayer you would of got seal from god and you would not go to hell so that means you would never have go coffsion and tell sins because of this seal be goin heaven also pray go mass all the good stuff that you would get also she says god mad with RC the way they put her down and saying is is liein etc so god is going do something to the RC and people makin fun of her messages and Apparitions and dont think mary or Jesus and god the father is like that so that really good way of showing how Satan is givin good messages but at the same time givin worng teaching of the faith in the church. in diifend parts of the world where lots of people to see these people messages from our lady ther goin away from the local church not listening to them just stop wait let them look into it so i would people want go to palces that our lady was apper to and read messages knock, fatima,Rue Du Bac in Paris there lot’s more great places to see that is argeed by church that is really from our lady or Jesus etc so go with the church you be fine by the real messages and Apparitions that says the all ok. Hope that helps and hope hear ye soon. God bless. 😉

That is an excellent question! St. Paul said “If anyone preach a different Gospel than I have preached, let him be accursed”. He spoke in the epistles to the various issues that were faced by the early church. The Church has always been close to Mary. St. John the Apostle was the only of the apostles to stay at the foot of the cross and Jesus gave him custody of his Mother, and her custody of him and us. She was involved in the New Testament Church. The Acts of the Apostles speak of the day of Pentecost or Whitsunday as it is sometimes called, when The Holy Spirit descended upon Mary and the Church. This is also the third mystery in the glorious mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. When the church was beset with the heresy of Arius who denied the divinity of Jesus, The first and second Councils of Nicea gave to mary the title “Theotokos”.
This is a greek word which means “God-Bearer”. This was a radical statement by the church that said that Jesus IS GOD and JESUS IS MAN, Therefore, calling Mary the God-Bearer is the same as saying that Jesus is truly God and Man, having a perfect Human nature and a perfect divine nature. The East and West have always agreed on this principle and the necessity of the emphasis on Mary’s unique role which we call “Mediatrix of all Graces” Pope St. Pius IX I believe, someone corect me). This means that everything that came to us from God through Jesus had to also come through Mary! The role of women are very important in Christianity indeed! Now—revelations, visions, piety concerning Mary all have to be scrutinized by the authority of the Church. When the Church does this, She is neither speaking for or against the apparition, devotion, etc, She is simply stating that according to her charism of binding and loosing, She finds nothing contrary to the Faith in the said apparition, devotion etc, and it is therefore acceptable or containing “no offence” Imprimatur. It takes years of research and prayer for the church to make such a ruling and as a Catholic you are not required to accept any such devotion unless it is a matter of INFALLIBLE revelation, solemnly defined by the Church through her Vicar, The Pope. E.G. We are obliged to believe in The Assumtion of Mary, and Her Immaculate Conception from Anne, Her Virginity before and after the birth of Jesus. We are not obliged to say the Rosary at all on the other hand. I have to say though, My life has been very much enriched by the Rosary, and I do recomend that you consider the church’s treasury of wisdom in devotion to Mary. Please remember that some of it is deeply personal and particular. Bernadette had a singular experience of grace that most of us will not have. On the other hand, there is nothing more important than being baptized and recieving the eucharist as often as possible—and the saints who have seen Mary would probably agree. It all should point to Jesus. Also, remember, the church does not approve of all the apparitions of notoriety. At present, Medjegorie is not endorsed by the Church I believe. But, If you ask God to protect you from error by obedience to the Magestrerium, you will be fine. I have been a Roman Catholic for fifty-One years and I find myself newly amazed at the layers upon layers of glorious stories and graces of great people like yourself and those here. And I realize that I am long winded in my reply and for that I apologize. It is one of my many faults. I hope that I have helped you here in some way, and you can help me by praying for me…God bless and love your heart.

It’s not possible for Satan to influence a person who believes in Mary. Because Satan cannot not harm those people of GOD.
Satan will only attack those people who does not believe. You better learn how to pray.

chiq, you better learn how to read your Bible, and Lives of the Saints.

Satan attacked Jesus Christ Himself, not to mention Job and almost every saint who ever lived!

Absolutely! It’s not only possible but has happened ever since Judas… and Christ was tempted by Satan in the desert… certainly Satan’s trying to influence the church, and not only influence it but destroy it… Check out this website, which started from Catholic Answers…

Also, from what I understand, the Catholic church will state which sightings of the Virgin Mary are approved or not … for example, Medjugorje is one of the ones not approved.

I need to clarify that I’m not saying that all Marian apparitions are of the evil one – what I’m trying to say, and I guess, not saying too well, is to let the Catholic church investigate each claim of a Marian visit and trust in the outcome of the investigation.

My two cents.
I checked out the website it is awesome, thanks:thumbsup:

I used to have a thing with Marian Devotions myself. My mom was really into them and I actually got to the point of feeling almost resentful about them. When I got to college I feel away from my religion and wasn’t sure if I believed in God anymore. Then one day when I was living in NYC I went to St. Patrick’s with my girlfriend, and was walking around thinking about how the artists probably didn’t even want to make the beautiful artwork in the church (the church just made them). Then suddenly while walking around I became overwhelmed with tears and felt something I can’t describe. The only thing I could call it is a feeling of divine love, unlike anything I’d ever experienced. I’d never felt something so intense in my life. I looked up and I was in front of a picture of Our Lady of Guadeloupe. I know I wasn’t making this up in my head, because I wasn’t looking for an experience like this to happen, and unless it happened the same way it did, I would have rationalized it as something made up in my head. But surely it wasn’t made up in my head and I can honestly say Mary saved me by bringing me back to her son. I think all my mothers prayers must have paid off. I suppose all this could in theory be demonic but at this point I’m more on fire for my religion then I’ve ever been so I’m not really sure what the logic of this being demonic would be. I hope this story helps you and God Bless.

Also, I just read all the previous posts. You guys had a pretty lively debate going on there regarding Fatima. For one thing I would say on the comment about Lucia’s mother not believing her and saying she was a liar does not mean she was one or by any means make her less credible. I just finished reading a book on Pier Giorgio Frassati and his parents basically thought he was worthless. Because of his humility and his the contrast between his love of God and their love of the world they really never saw anything worthwhile in him.

Why would Mary give Lucia a message to give to the Holy Father and not directly to the Holy Father? This past weeks gospel reading comes to mind where Jesus notes the Caanaanite woman’s “Great Faith”. Contrast that to Peter the week before and his “lack of faith” on the water. Those are Jesus’s words not mine, and I don’t say this in any form of disrespect (I love Rome just as much as anyone else) just merely something to point out. The way God works is the way he works, we shouldn’t put limits on it with our preconceived notions.

With that said Padre Pio used to see demonic apparitions of the Virgin Mary. Here’s a link to how he could tell whether they were from God or not catholicfriends.multiply.com/journal/item/623

Regardless of to whether the apparitions are real or not, God is allowing them for some reason.

I tried to read it but I can’t understand it, I don’t know why. I even tried to read the called the Son of Man still same thing. I was wandering why I have birthmarks on both of my arms almost same position. A scar on top of my foot. my bday and my name are all so odd. And I can remember sometime in my life even when I was still a baby. I was wondering why some people called me Nino when I was a young boy. Now You have read the Bible, Did you really understand it? And can you tell us what is the purpose of your reading the bible? To be smarter than anybody or to impress anybody?

Maybe you should join the Odd Fellows. Strength in numbers, y’know.

I’m praying, for me not to have any power because I know myself I’m very aggressive and you cannot hide. Please pray to my father not to give me a power. Do not mention my name “Emmanuel” Once the end of the dark side started. You will go to He—!

Well did you ever…“she didn’t appear at any time” why am I replying to this post ? search me, probably in defense of the BVM

That’s a good as excuse as any.

Well did you ever, were are you from ? I’m sure theyre confused about the BRAIN DRAIN.

Goto the Vatican website and you’ll see from the horses mouth, that the Vatican has pronounced them as being the MOST PROPHETIC.
