A question for Non-denominationals

Catholic is merely an adjective describing Christ Church,so in essence,the first Christians did follow a universal (catholic) church…😉

Purgatorty is hard for non-Catholics to comprehend relate to due to the fact Protestant Bibles have 7 books less. Purgatory is not so much a place,but a condition.

You mean to tell me that the reformers were forcing people to conform to the Catholic church or else when really, they were in opposition to some of the churches practices?

Thank you for that uncharitable response! How else to respond to an obvious reply? Everybody knows(or should) that God makes the final decision! Actually, if you reject Christ’s offer of salvation, you have made your final choice!👍

It is a matter of historical record, Do your research. The bloodshed was not one-sided

This suggests that the Bible and the Church could contradict each other. Our Lord promised to S. Peter that the gates of Hell would never prevail against His Church. Catholics can trace an unbroken history back to that Church entrusted by Christ to the authority of His Apostles.

The answer is really quite logical to their minds. When Constantine made the Church the official religion of the empire, the real church dried up and this monolithic Roman Catholic Church began. This was in 312 or 313. They believe they have revived the “real” Christian Church.

Therefore they are protesting NOTHING. They are simply carrying on real Christianity. If you told them the Church is a physical entity with a real presence, regarless of their participation as “the body of Christ” they would look at you as if you had 2 heads and spoke Klingon.

To them, the Church subsits in its entirety when 2 or more are gathered in the name of Jesus. Hence the proliferration of school cafeteria churches, etc.

What do they say when you provide them with (pre 312): Clement, Ploycarp, Ignacious, Iranius and Justine Martyr writings: One head being the bishop of Rome, The real presence, etc what do they say? I am very curious:confused:

You have every right to believe that the Roman Catholic Church “put together” the Bible. I do not see it that way. You have every right to believe that Jesus founded the RCC on the back of Peter. I again, I don’t see it that way. Your definition of the church is different from mine. You have the right to believe this, that doesn’t make it true.
