The more you study this, the more you realize that the Church had to have the authority to compile the bible from the many variations in scriptures available at the time. Yet, the bible is not a list of precise words, but of moral and theological truths that were revealed to man, and are taught by the Church, regardless of the manuscript used.
But this from the introduction to the 1967 Papal Edition Confraternity Bible strikes me as the essential truth of the scriptures which we read: “Translations of the Bible are absolutely without error only in so far as they accurately express the ideas written by the inspired writer in the original language.”

At first when the Bibles were printed there was only one numbering system from front to back. When the Deuterocanonical (called Apocryphal) books were omitted there was a gap of numbers missing where those books had been. This omission was later glossed over by starting the New Testament with page 1 again.
Also, besides the examples of how the New Testament authors used the Book of Wisdom, I like to point out to Protestants how it is prophetic in other examples. I would not say that the New Testament authors used Wisdom chapter 2, but just recording what happened to Jesus.

Dear Donna,
I am saddened by your grief for your sister. It most cases the canon issue on the number of books will not be what compels your sister to come back, although logically it probably should.
Your real question on how to help her is a difficult one. Of course, love, prayer, living with Christ in your heart, and sacrifice offered in union with the Sacrifice of the Mass is most important.
There are several issues or means of grace that can help your sister, but it can be difficult finding the one that connects with her. Hopefully, she will open herself to God’s grace so that she will see why she needs to come back. Continue to ask God to help you help her.
Some issues that come to my mind are below, but it will in large part depend on your sister.
Arguing with your sister might turn her off. Many people tend to be closed minded.

If you could help her see that going to church is about choosing to do God’s will, NOT about making myself feel good about myself. It is His will and His truth that I need to follow, not doing what I think.
She may get “communion” at her “non-denominational church” but she is not getting the Real Eucharist, Jesus in the fulness, Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity. One problem with all Protestant “churches” is that they have part of the truth, and good things are there, BUT to give up the true church and the fullness of the faith for a partial truth is a disaster and recipe for many bad things.
If you could help her understand what the Mass is really about and how to participate well so as to open oneself up to that wellspring of grace that is offered there you will have helped her tremendously. And I realize that is what you are trying to do. One booklet that really helped me is
