according to some linguistic knowledge, that partly due to the muddy french language. a language rich in d3 and l sounds boring and french is just thattelegraph
devoid of a sense of humour
No doubt, Space. Very true. AND……don’t forget your US history, specifically the revolutionary war… we owe the French a great deal… Were it not for the French, Cornwallace would probably marched all the way to Washington… You might be singing God save the Queen today had it not been for the French…
…we may need them again one day…

…well, i guess we could say let the country without sin cast the first stone…No doubt, Space. Very true. AND…

Spaaaaaaace??? This is not about being blameless. But it is an honest recognition of the state of the relationship as it has evolved over the last 200 years.…well, i guess we could say let the country without sin cast the first stone…

Heavens I hope not! They will be of no use…you heard the joke about the reason the Brits had red uniforms so that if they were wounded no one would know and the troops would stand firm. Now in contrast the French soldiers wear brown pants.…we may need them again one day…

Pretty interesting. Thanks!

As someone already posted, we more than repaid the French by saving their butts in both World Wars and rebuilding them with the Marshall Plan, plus constant military and economic assistance.…don’t forget your US history, specifically the revolutionary war… we owe the French a great deal… Were it not for the French, Cornwallace would probably marched all the way to Washington… You might be singing God save the Queen today had it not been for the French…

I think it is you who has forgotten US History. When did the French enter the Revolution? AFTER the battle of Saratoga in 1777, almost three whole years after the start of the war. Why? Because the surrender of 7,000 British troops at Saratoga convinced the French that the war could actually be won. They only get involved when they think it’s safe… I wonder why.…don’t forget your US history

Anyway, Cornwallis would have never marched on Washington had the French not arrived. Even before the French arrived, the Americans had already won enough victories to badly damage Cornwallis’ capability to capture another major city. The Battle of Cowpens was the last major victory before Yorktown, and it was won by a smaller American force, comprised of mostly militia. The French had no part in this last major victory which forced the British into a corner at Yorktown.
