A very important article if you are at all concerned about the soft totalitarianism in America

I did not say I was a “determiner.” This, as all else I express, is my viewpoint. I believe we have had enough of the Trump show. Now let’s get to work on having the GOP in Congress pass the Heroes Act so that the remaining small businesses and all those workers affected by their closing do not become unemployed.

I suppose only certain “we” are counted in your tabulations? The wes standing over beside you? Everyone else who doesn’t think it is over is persona non grata?

I have not observed bias toward any political faction on my social media feeds, in fact, I get a little weary of the constant barrage of conspiracy theory, cries of foul, from a certain political faction, as they flood my feed every day (granted, I only use FB and Twitter, so I am not an authority on all platforms). However, I am one who fact checks everything I care about, so, when I am corrected I am grateful for it.
It is funny, the social media streams we see are designed to mostly match our bias. Conservatives however, get to see the bias as the stories out of the mainstream media are so slanted away from our bias. Proof of this bias is the Dominion voting system coverage. These are stories that the mainstream media covered as a danger and now, everything is completely fine and there is no need to investigate or report on election integrity.

Not “persona non grata,” just wrong and victims of Trump’s indoctrination and intimidation. What Trump is now doing is not only futile and wasting precious time, but also a threat to our democracy by endangering the orderly transmission of power, and a threat to our country at home and abroad by not giving Biden access to all the classified documents which he must be briefed on during the transition period. Trump is nothing but a spoiled child and a sore loser. The man has no character whatsoever.

I see. Not non-existent, just mindless ninnies with no redeemable qualities unless they can be forcibly but therapeutically healed from their mental debility.

You might want to recalibrate your opinion and your morality here when you realize (on close scrutiny) that to a rational observer your view is very close to what the eugenics crowd believed about the genetically inferior back in the 1920s and 30s, i.e., that they needed to be forcibly sterilized so their undesirable traits would be culled out of the human race.

The intimidation is entirely on one side. You are projecting.

Numerous antifa and blm incidents and now with election officials and lawyers representing Trump.

Someone got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, and it isn’t me! How dare you say that my moral values are equivalent to those who favor eugenics. Where do you come to such a warped conclusion just because I disagree with you regarding what Trump is now doing?

I am opposed to those on the left who want to cancel culture. I am equally opposed to those who want to thwart our democratic elections, that is, people such as Trump. I take each and every issue as I see it.

Not often that three invectives are lobbed in my direction…
  1. just wrong
  2. victim of Trump’s indoctrination
  3. victim of Trump’s intimidation.
As a psychologist you might consider those “triggering” or no?

Move along! There is nothing to see her! Keep moving!

Would a thorough review of both Dominion and the software which was in place through them reveal problems? Possibly. Could that review be done prior to the time for swearing in? Not likely. And assuming that it could even be possible grounds for reversing one swing state, not likely; so Either we get Joe, or we get Nancy.

Right now we should be devoting all energy and prayers possible for the Georgia elections. If both seats can be held by Republicans, then we need to start prepping for the 2022 elections, and the 2024 elections.

Given that part of Virginia is a hotbed of people working in D.C., I am not particularly surprised.

You are probably right. I am learning a great deal about myself at the moment, but it is taking time to process. Working on it.

I returned to the OP article and noticed this, at the start:
The following is an adaptation from Rod Dreher’s “Live Not by Lies: A Manual for Christian Dissidents”.
I then clicked that link, and discovered that:
  1. Rod Dreher is a highly respected journalist, and, in particular, is the author of The Benedict Option, which has been highly praised within both Protestant and Catholic circles, especially those of conservative (“c”) leanings. Fr Longenekker calls the Benedict option “the only option”.
  2. The primary purpose of the book is to pass on warnings and observations received from survivors of totalitarian regimes. From the Amazon page for the book:
For years, émigrés from the former Soviet bloc have been telling Rod Dreher they see telltale signs of “soft” totalitarianism cropping up in America–something more Brave New World than Nineteen Eighty-Four

In Live Not By Lies , Dreher amplifies the alarm sounded by the brave men and women who fought totalitarianism. He explains how the totalitarianism facing us today is based less on overt violence and more on psychological manipulation. He tells the stories of modern-day dissidents–clergy, laity, martyrs, and confessors from the Soviet Union and the captive nations of Europe–who offer practical advice for how to identify and resist totalitarianism in our time.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn famously said that one of the biggest mistakes people make is assuming totalitarianism can’t happen in their country.
So, these points of the book stand, regardless of allegations of electoral fraud and/or social media bias in the wake of the 2020 US election. The attempt to apply Dreher’s points to these may (or may not be) far fetched, and I reserve judgement, but the preceding issues remain.

Immaculee Ilebegeza relates how the intolerance in Rwanda grew little by little before things got really bad.
Little remarks in the media, that sort of thing.
Easily dismissed (“don’t take it so seriously “).

Yes, it’s important to call out bigotry when it happens, and to fight back on even little encroachments on our rights,

I wanted to wait patiently until the frivolous lawsuits and wasteful, costly recounts were winding down to give you the benefit of the doubt, and to answer your very fair questions. Looks like Team Trump is 1-33 in frivolous lawsuits in which the courts rejected any of Trump’s premier attorney, Rudi Giuliani’s bizarre conspiracy theories and baseless fraud claims. Giuliani himself called that other attorney who came up with numerous and bizarre conspiracy theories at the news conference “crazy.” If Guiliani considers someone crazy, then that person has to be absoutely bizzaro. The Trump Campaign quickly distanced itself from that particular lawyer who spouted such bizarre conspiracy theories. So if President Paranoia himself thinks such conspiracy theories are too bizarre for HIM, what would you say to Trum? Ask him the same qurquestions.
Guiliani did go before one judge and told the judge that that particular case “was not a fraud case”, Giuliani’s own words, and the judge literally laughed at him and asked Guiliani what he was in court for then. Guiliani never went into a courtroom in front of a judge since, because he knew that he had no case, no shred of evidence of fraud. Claiming “fraud” before a judge in a court of law is not the same thing as crying “fraud!” in a tweet, a press conference, etc. Anyone can claim anything to anyone, be it fraud or conspiracy, but what matters, what only matters, is what happens in court. And Guiliani could not prove a case, any case, not ONE for fraud. that 1 hour and 45 minute circus Guiliani held last week, that I mentioned earlier, everyone knows how that turned crazy clown show turned out.
And since last week, numerous states, both Republican and Democratic Secretary of State’s, have been certifying a Biden win. They certified that all Electoral College votes to go to Biden, because Biden won.
And I think the ONE case that Trump won one was the recount, I mean TWO recounts, of the entire state of Georgia, and the results were the same in both recounts and the general election. Trump is the only President that lost an election THREE times in one state.
I hope that I answered your question as to what my point was, and I don’t know if “I” sufficiently answered it, but Team Trump sure did, in their own words and deeds. They threw one of their own under the bus because of multiple, crazy, really bizarre, conspiracy theories. I think Team Trump answered your questions.
