Oh shes becoming Catholic? How wonderful! 🙂

I knew she had become Pro-Life and she was now Christian of some sort but didnt know about her becoming Catholic. Thanks be to God
 
I would like to know what the Catholic church teaching is on salvation and how to obtain it, and can you know where your soul will go when you die

Salvation is by the grace of Jesus Christ alone. He established a Church to continue His ministry until He comes again in glory. He gave the Church power to forgive sins in His name and one way in which is done is through baptism. Baptism is to the eyes just a washing with water, but it imparts grace and the Holy Spirit (see Acts 2), causing the recipient to be born again to live a new and eternal life through Christ Jesus as a member of His Body, which is the Church. The Body of Christ, being part of Christ Himself, is eternal and it is by being part of the Body that one enters into eternal life.

Note that it is possible to be saved without baptism because GRACE, not baptism per se, is what saves. Baptism always imparts grace but grace can be imparted by other means unknown to man but known and administered by Jesus Christ, who desires the salvation of all. Thus children and the mentally infirm—as well as the invincibly ignorant—who die without having been baptized may enter heaven. (The heresy of salvation by faith alone, in contrast, leaves no room in heaven for these people, including the unborn victims of abortion.)

Human beings, being made in the image and likeness of God have free will. Hence they can refuse to life the new life that Jesus Christ imparts and can even disobey the Holy Spirit. If this disobedience is fully informed, voluntary, and concerns grave matter, then the result is that the person cuts themselves off from the Body of Christ, and there is no longer a sacrifice for sins but a prospect of judgment (Hebrews 10).

Because our wills remain free until we die our earthly death, no one is absolutely guaranteed salvation. The Holy Spirit will not allow us to lose our souls if we obey Him. In that sense we have an “assurance” that God will provide everything we need to be saved, but He is not going to take over our lives and force us into Heaven; were He to do that we would cease to be human, destroying the purpose for which He made us.

Chick Publications is an anti-Catholic hate group. You may as well tell a person of Mexican descent (which I am) to attend a KKK meeting. And unlike the KKK, they are for-profit, meaning they actually make money off of hate.

Only God can forgive sins, but He does so through men. Consider this: at the end of every Chick tract is the “Sinner’s Prayer” or a similar incanatation which is supposed to forgive sins. Now if that prayer actually causes sins to be forgiven (which it does not), would it not be fair to say that the reader’s sins were forgiven through a man, namely Jack Chick?

See the double standard here? It’s okay for Chick to forgive sins, but not a Catholic priest. By the way, the Sinner’s Prayer is NOT in the Bible. But this is:

Peace of the Lord be with you preacherman,

God alone has the authority to fogive sins, but has imparted this authority upon his Church. Consider when Christ said to his Apostles:

John 20:21-23
“Then said Jesus to them again, Peace
be unto you: as my Father hath sent me,
even so send I you. And when he had
said this, he breathed on them, and
saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy
Ghost: Whose soever sins ye remit, they
are remitted unto them; and whose
soever sins ye retain, they are retained.”

Interestingly ennough the only other time God “breathes” on man is in Gen 2:7 when he breaths life into man. Thus showing how important a moment is happening here. Why would God give authority to forgive since and not expect the Church to do it?

Yes only God has the authority but he has given this authority to His Church. Consider a General who gives authority to a Captain to march a company of men. The General is the one with the authority but he has delegated this authority to the Captain.

Who am I to go to Jesus and say, “No sorry, the Church cannot do what YOU said it can do, only you can do that.” God’s word is truth.

And as mentioned by others Jack Chicks publications are well known for thier Anti-Catholic redoric which has been disproven countless times by both Scripture and History.

I am over halfway through Abby’s book, Unplanned and it is FANTASTIC!!! I have gotten to the part where she finally realizes that she’s on “the wrong side of the fence,” as she puts it, and has decided to resign from Planned Parenthood. She goes to the Coalition for Life’s office and they pray with her and vow to help her find a job. It is a very moving book and I am cheering and praying for Abby as I read.

Her journey is very illuminating of what our society believes about Planned Parenthood - that their stated mission to help women is really what they do.

And it’s also enlightening about why the gory posters will never work. The pro-aborts use those tactics against us and feel that they are in a war, which solidifies their position in their minds.
 
Hope to read the Book very soon.

May the Journey of this Woman be an Example for Us all.

Through the Prayers of the Mother Of God, have mercy on us and Save Us. Amen.👍
