Anti-religion?

When did that ever come up? I asked an honest question. Which I am still waiting for a legitimate answer to.
I wasn’t poking holes in anyone’s religion.
Where is your place to poke holes in mine?
I asked because I was curious as to what specific condition this teenager could have. I knew a young woman who was missing an entire chamber in her heart. When she got pregnant her family would have kept the baby but she was told that she would be dead before the baby reached a viable age. Of course this was over twenty years ago and there might be more options now. The young lady suffered extreme depression after her abortion and had to get some help from a therapist.

Let me use this analogy on you…A man can’t afford to buy life saving medicine for his child, so he robs a bank. Should this extreme situation be used to give all people the ability to rob banks on demand?

Just a question.

What if the victim of the rape was a 13 year old little girl? What if she wasn’t able to bear the child without killing/injuring herself in the process? Say she had something wrong with her reproductive system. What if her body could not house the baby properly? She could either have the baby and die, or she could abort and continue to live.
I would abort.
Just my honest opinion.
As rare as this could ever be I am sure this could happen. The body has away of taking care of these things. The baby would probably be miscarried. If not we live - at least here in the US - in wonderful society that have wonderful hospitals that would care for the young mother until she gives birth.

On a side note something could happen to all mothers during birthing that does not give the right to kill the child.

My grandmother(born 1919) had a mother who was a midwife. Her mother, my great grandmother, always said that when a woman gives birth she is a hairbreadth away from death. Although that is not true today, the fact is that most of our foremothers knew that they could die during labor. It was a fact of life for them. They were some tough women.

It is a tough call (emotionally), but a direct abortion would still be murder.

Playing to the extreme fringe of probability is hardly what I would call legitimate questioning.
It sounds more like excuse making.

Now as to the OP question…
I am uncertain it applies to abortion at all.
One act is the act of saving an individual.
Aborting a child conceived from rape is not.

I heard this question put another way, It was if some people had kidnaped you and hooked you up to some one to save their life, Because the person was famous, Or they classed him or her as famous

The very question was debated on this forum somewhere just recently. I think that it is under the philosophy section.🙂

deb1 There was a documentary about this a few years ago, Where a younger girl was having a baby, And she had an Abortion

Of course, very often, particularly with later gestation abortions, the pregnant woman/girl still will actually have to go through an induced labour and delivery to give birth to a dead baby. Or she could have deadly sharp instruments slicing about inside her. How the heck is this going to do her immature reproductive system any good? Never mind her psyche? Never mind her unborn child.

I used to be pro choice but now that I am Catholic I have revised my way of thinking and understand the importance of life…however I know someone who had their second child and almost died. After being brought back and recovering they became pregnant again. Even in the early stages of pregnancy their life was in danger and would not have been able to keep the baby full term without it dying or her dying or both. The doctors told her to abort b/c her two children needed their mother. I don’t disagree with this. I prob would have done the same thing. If that makes me a cold hearted monster then so be it.
