This case continues to haunt me and I’m glad it’s coming to a close. I’m hoping for a guilty verdict and a long prison term, followed by reforms within the abortion industry. Fewer abortions is better than more, safer abortions are better than ghoulish deeds. No abortions at all would be best … but we’re not there yet. Keep praying.
Don’t forget Obama’s response to an interviewer re the Gosnell trial.After refusing to comment directly on ten trial being that is is “active”,he did go on to quote Clinton “abortion should be legal safe and rare.”
He must live in a parallel universe.
He had to hearken back to Clinton. The motto of “safe, legal and rare” was replaced at the 2012 DNC with “we oppose any and all efforts to undermine [a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay]… abortion is an intensely personal decision between a woman, her doctor, and her clergy;”
The GOP’s platform is “nay” to abortion without reservation, out of interest for the life of the child and the child’s rights. That platform is the most morally correct but leaves the Democrats the most leeway to move and still retain much of the vote. Previously, “safe legal and rare” kept the pro-abortion without alienating the pro-choice crowd; “abortion without restriction” alienates those in the pro-choice crowd who support abortion to save the life of the mother but are aghast at third-trimester butchery, however they have little room to go against the GOP’s platform. I’m not saying at all that the GOP should openly support abortion; rather this playing field is in the Dems’ favor and they’re free to show their true colors - a child is the property of the mother and may be killed without penalty any time prior to a planned birth.
The verdict in Gosnell may change that. If Gosnell is found guilty of murder for killing a baby who was born alive and then murdered by Gosnell, it could very well send shockwaves through the pro-choice community and force them to reign in such abuses. A number of states will introduce further restrictions and mandatory clinic visits and complaint monitoring - more than have done so already - and Planned Parenthood/NARAL/etc. will have to spend millions to fight those efforts. Good. In the meantime the pro-life message can be simple and effective:
“How much will you send to Planned Parenthood so they can make sure that even the most disgusting, unsanitary and inexperienced abortionists can operate without interference by anyone at any time?”
This could also badly backfire. If the argument that “federal funding of abortions is needed to prevent clinics like Gosnells from preying on poor women” is effective, there could be a flood of donations and support to the pro-choice cause. If public support warrants it, the President could rescind Executive Order 13535. Obama signed this back in 2010 to extend to the Affordable Care Act the Hyde Amendment’s provisions that certain federal funds may not be used for abortions except in the cases of incest, rape, and to preserve the life of the mother. There is literally no other protection in the Affordable Care Act against this abuse of federal funds. Obama’s move wasn’t popular among the pro-choice (who thought he was caving) nor among the pro-life (who didn’t think it sufficient), but the move is diabolically clear. Our president has an ace in the hole, and if Gosnell goes badly all he has to do is erase his own decree.

The question egging at jurors is
why snip the necks then? If there is no guilty verdict of abuse of a corpse (the man kept
body parts around a
medical clinic - for what possible reason?), then the terrifying finding of the jury is that babies are not human until their mothers say they are - those aren’t corpses, but tissues. Then, I fear, we must realize that our struggle is against the ruler of the darkness of this age, for the eyes of many are blinded, and hearts are blackened by the lies of Satan.
Either way, we must make ready for spiritual warfare, if we have not already.

This is, unfortunately, starting to backfire already. The video appears to have been excessively edited, and the news outlets were quick to interview the doctor who was interviewed, and the media who are friendly to abortionists are spinning this as an unwarranted attack on a quiet, unassuming professional doctor who sometimes refuses to perform an abortion if he feels the woman is being coerced (ie, is having an extramarital affair). I hate to say that Live Action may have used the wrong tactic here. The ACORN workers were inept, incompetent, and their supervisors had no clue what to do - and the weight of the video and its ensuing scandal was sufficient to push ACORN into bankruptcy, more likely from lack of private funding than from the pulling of federal funds (which wiki notes accounted for 10% of the total funding). In this case, however, there’s not a large center to go after. Planned Parenthood is used to being attacked and the abortion industry is well-organized, quick and will likely have a defamation lawsuit brought against Live Action (and Lila Rose personally) by the end of the week.
