Abortion Doctor's Murder Trial Opens

I hoped to find some mention of the trial in the A section of my local paper this (Sunday) morning. Alas, nothing. Maybe next week…

Curiously, a friend of mine on Facebook who is adamantly pro-abortion (-she thinks NO woman should have to pay for an abortion, that the government should pay for ALL of them, and all contraception, and all childcare) posted a quote from a Derrick Jensen that begins, “We demand that all children be wanted.” The idea is that the way you have a world in which all children are wanted is to help women abort all unwanted children.

I responded, “No one’s real freedom can be rooted in the right to kill someone else just because you don’t want them.”

What is important in America nowadays to respect rights, like the rights of transgendered people to use restrooms and locker rooms of the opposite sex. Not on whether a baby has a right to live or die.🤷

Maybe that’s a big reason for the MSM’s relative noncoverage. HLN has focused heavily on the Jodi Arias trial in recent months. Cameras are obviously allowed in the courtroom in that case.

I doubt if lack of camera access would make a difference in a 911 trial ever per press coverage.

And as far as I’m concerned, cameras might be a reason some trials end up being circus like.

I heard one of the networks, Fox I think talking about Jodi Arias going to court dressed like a librarian, probably so, probably part of the strategy. Hope if she did what she’s accused of she pays but of course, our country has thousands of murders every year.

Clearly the media blackout has nothing to do with lack of cameras but lack of participation on the part of the media. The empty chairs are evidence enough. Even liberal reporters and bloggers admit that this case will damage the “choice” or “reproductive rights” arguments. No longer can the MSM claim that late term abortions aka infanticide (protected and promoted by POTUS himself) are merely urban myths of crazy right wingers.

As to Jodi Arias, maybe someone can explain why certain trials (Arias, Casey Anthony) merit daily coverage when these are not the only such cases in this country?

We will see what happens now that the absent media has been smoked out.

Some people are probably too young to know but, there was probably a time, they never had cameras allowed in the court room.

And onto another case, perhaps no cameras are being allowed with the Aurora camera shooter.

“There is a murder trial in Pennsylvania, that I know you now is getting a lot of attention — more attention that the media was not getting on it — Kermit Gosnell, this doctor who is accused of having delivering some babies who were literally screaming and then beheading them. He’s facing murder charges on that and it hasn’t been decided yet obviously, since he’s still on trial. Is the president following this at all, does the White House have any reaction to that kind of situation?

Even a NYT blogger who denies political leanings are the cause, as she calls the seven babies he is charged with murdering “viable fetuses,” admits that more coverage is warranted.

I think it’s hilarious that you are defending the mainstream media’s coverage at the same time they are apologizing for it. They made a bigger deal about Michael Vick’s animal abuse than they have about Gosnell’s house of horrors. But, that is logical, since abortion rights advocates consider animals more valuable than humans.

As I posted on Facebook, the eggs of TURTLES AND BIRDS are given protection…EGGS! Yet “viable babies” can have their heads nearly cut off to be sure they don’t survive the previous assaults…

While endangered species should be given protection, I think humans should be given way more protection use the law. Especially children. This kind of stuff makes my blood boil. :mad:

Absolutely but it just stunned me when I looked at this poster and it had four photos with the caption of “Which of these embryos are protected?” All three of the animals WERE protected. Have you seen the huge volunteer efforts to help the turtles when they lay their eggs for example? Or the federal charges against those who damage or disrupt birds or frogs egss?

It’s just unbelievable that the same society that will walk out on a wet beach in the middle of the night to help turtles don’t realize the lack of protection of unborn children.

Just to contrast how often does the media cover an injured bird returned to the wild or eggs that are hatched at the local Audubon Society? No trouble to get them to cover these events but they had to be dragged kicking and screaming to cover Gosnell’s House of Horrors.

Well, sure…because humans aren’t on the endangered species list. Human babies are therefore expendable to pro-choicers (even those who are “personally opposed” but okay with others choosing to kill human babies).
