Hmmm, I wonder if abortion is just something they managed to convince alot of people was acceptable…JUST so they could justify these killings which in reality are sacrifices to the demonic entity?

I dont think any of us really knows what goes in in the room where abortions are done…maybe they are a form of demonic worship, and they have just come up with an ‘acceptable’’ term (abortion) for society? It would make sense
Shall I start making the tinfoil conspiracy hats?

… against your opinion and/or beliefs?
Misusing words like that is a poor decision. It inherently demonizes people involved in abortions and belittles schizophrenia.
not sure what you are saying, are you? by the way, the tin foil hat comment is overused and unnecessary. it belittles people who wear tin foil hats for protection from alien projected energies used to control one’s mind… get over yourself, come down out of the ivory tower.

the OP used the words he used to describe something not necessarily to be taken literally. Are you old enough to be on the internet, do your parents know you’re using their computer?

I’m old enough to go to war. A passing request to not use terms that are inconsiderate of the mentally ill or inspire unnecessary fear is common form on the internet as well. I know someone who is ACTUALLY schizophrenic. He’s a good kid and sweet as they come. He also as to deal with things I can’t even imagine.

Abortion is not Satanic in the sense that the people who perform them are necessarily self professed Satanists of any kind.

Abortion is considered Satanic in the Catholic sense of the term, meaning a great evil act that is believed to be done under the inspiration of Satan.

Schizophrenia is a very serious illness. It is possible that the word should be restricted to discusses of that. In any case, what people mean to say in using the word in speaking of abortion is “Double-minded”.

We all know someone… as the next poster says I believe the intent was not to malign anyone with a disease but to use a synonym of double-minded as well. The intent of this whole forum from what I can see is to allow Catholics a forum and others who are seeking answers with respect to Catholicism. Abortion is front and center in the Catholic mind and abortion is a mental illness because one has to be out of his or her mind to think it is all right to kill an individual who is completely his/her own being. A baby is 100% unique and not the mother’s body or an appendage so it causes a great deal of mental and emotional stress upon us to think about this happening and being passed off as normal. this is not to say anything negative about those who don’t see it this way since of course they are blind to the truth. If there weren’t blind there is no way they could participate in such atrocities. If they knowingly do these things then they are diabolical for there is nothing else that could explain such sadism.

Your need to pounce on someone’s grammatical choice of words has nothing to do with acknowledging or adding to this debate. This is a serious matter. As the cliche saying goes “words cannot hurt you” but killing a human being with inhuman methods who can feel pain can hurt someone else. That is the issue here.

There’s a philosophy of kindness we can show one another by trying to understand what is being said not finding one or two grammatical errors and then pouncing on them like a hunter in the woods.

It’s not about grammar. It’s about showing respect and knowing words have power.
And in the words of Timmy Turner’s Dad : “Sticks and stone may break your bones, but words leave psychological wounds that never heal!”

Getting a probe stuck through your brain hurts more than a word used as a synonym. Not all words are meant to be taken literally. You choose how you feel, someones words do not affect you unless you let them. You are responsible for your life, you can speak up for yourself. A baby cannot speak for him or herself, there is no lower respect shown than being killed. Life and liberty are a natural human right, as is dignity. We bear the burden of life as adults and must take insults perceived or true every day. It is how we respond to others words that make us better and build our character.

“That which does not kill me makes me stronger.”

An abortion does kill a baby, words do not hurt.

And using words with fewer problems hurts less than using a word that gratuitously distracts from the main discussion. If the word is only a “synonym,” then the poster who originally used it could’ve chosen another word. It’s actually not a synonym, and the post should’ve chosen a better, more suitable word. Words may not hurt some people, but they hurt discussions, and a more prudent word choice in the first place would’ve prevented this digression altogether.

Using such a loaded word as a loosely-used “schizophrenic” adds nothing positive to the post and just gathers distraction, if not also worse things. This word choice doesn’t make the argument more true, or more loving, or more persuasive; it definitely doesn’t keep the discussion more on-topic.

I already wouldn’t use it here, on a forum that’s sympathetic to pro-life views; I couldn’t imagine using it on more of a mixed forum, let alone one with strong and hostile opposition. Promoting a pro-life message in the midst of our current world may be hard enough. When we promote such a valuable and needed message, let’s not make it unnecessarily harder.

I’m not rabidly pro-choice to clarify. Third trimester should be illegal across the board. At that point it is blatantly a kid and has every chance of surviving outside the womb. Whats more by third tri if the fetus is healthy its probably safer for the mother to carry it to term and put it up for adoption rather than risking complications. Second tri is fuzzier but I still think it should not be so violently pursued. I definitely believe they need to change the procedures to be more humane. Because we put down animals more humanely.
But I strongly believe early in the first trimester is a religious issue. You don’t call a seed a tree and I don’t call the initial ring of cells that form what will one day be the anus counts as a person. (seriously look it up) At that point it boils down to belief in a soul and you shouldn’t legislate on that.

I didn’t say something about the choice in adjective to tear down the argument. It was because the words are designed to inspire fear and hate.

It’s very refreshing to hear this!

How do you know you have a soul?

So, are you saying that having a brain is what protects us under the law from being murdered? Or do you mean consciousness?
well you have to have a heartbeat and brainwaves to be (legally) alive. So legally speaking it makes sense to no count a fetus as alive until it has a heartbeat and brainwaves.

Don’t forget about a unique DNA pattern; which is what every embryo has. But if you are unsure as to whether or not we have a soul, then we’re all just a collection of cells, aren’t we?
