The Torah consists of the first five books of ‘The Law’ (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy).

The Tanakh (from Torah, Nevi’im [Prophets] and Ketuvim [Writings]) is what you call the ‘Old Testament’. The organization is, however, different.

‘Oral Torah’ is an essential part of Judaism. The Talmud is a complex creation consisting of generations of rabbinical argument about a great range of issues and part of one of Judaism’s greatest traditions - “two Jews, three opinions”.

Judaism is a religion of ‘Law’, the rest of the Tanakh and things like the Talmud are about understanding and interpreting ‘The Law’.

Jesus made reference to the traditional Jewish division of the Scriptures in the NT, when he spoke of “the Law and the Prophets” (he just left out "and the Holy Writings). I always found that curious, esp. since Christians use a different order for their “Old Testament”.
