I have an update. Steven is going to be in the hospital for another 2 weeks as of right now. He was going to try to hang himself. He had a belt set up in the basement. He keeps saying no one cares about him or what happens to him. His mother has not gone to visit him at all. Please continue to pray for this young man.
Will be keeping Steven in prayer with Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Joseph and St. Dymphna…may The Lord bring healing and Peace to him…

I have another update on Steven, he will remain hospitalized for a while -up to 60 days. On the day that he had hung a belt in his basement to kill himself earlier that day his mother told him he should kill himself and his life wasn’t worth anything.
Neither his mother or father have gone to visit him in the hospital. I am going tomorrow to see him. Please continue to pray for him. Thanks so much.

I am keeping Steven in my prayers…

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

I posted an update on my blog and continue to pay for this young man. Please do continue to update us. I am so thankful he has you to care about him.

I have decided I game going to print out these prayer intentions and bring them to Steven tomorrow to let him see how many are praying for him.
Thank you all so much!

Heavenly Father, your child is in need of your most tender love and mercy. Watch over him, and comfort him in his sorrow. Take Steven into your loving arms Father, and let him know how amazing he is to you. He has been through such suffering Lord, his spirit is weak. Grant him strength and courage to endure this trial. Stay near to him Lord, that he may feel your loving presence. Be the shoulder for him to lean on, his strength when he feels tired, and the outstretched hand to catch him when he stumbles. May your love for him, pour out upon him Lord, and fill him with peace, and hope for a bright future filled with your blessings!

Prayer against Depression - by Saint Ignatius of Loyola

O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.
Amen.

Tell Steven that I will keep him in my prayers. God bless him!

In a surprise turn of events Steven may be released from the hospital today. Our husband and I had decided to take him into our home when he was released -although we didn’t expect it to be quite so soon. He will be staying with our Godchild’s mother’s family for a couple days while we get his room prepared, right now it’s being used for storage. Please pray for all of us. Thank you!

Thank God and thank you, Mother Mary! God bless you and you husband for the love you give from your heart, Rayne89. Steven is blessed to have you both. I will keep everyone in prayer.

(I copied this from my post in the family forum because I don’t have the emotional energy to re-explain.)
My heart is in a million peices right now. Steven chose to go home and wait for his mom to get off work at 9. He was supposedly home alone so I drove over there to talk to him. His house is about 10 minutes from mine. When I pulled up in the driveway he was sitting in his truck with a teenage boy -they started scambling around as I walked up the driveway. My heart just sunk because my gut told me he was getting high and I was right.

As soon as I walked up to the window he started crying and apologizing. He kept saying there’s just too much pressure and he can’t handle it. I tried talking to him. I said that is why we wanted you with us, I asked if he would come home with me. But he said he just wanted to stay at his mom’s until he graduated and then he was going to join the military and go away. I tried talking to him for a while, he was shaking and crying and said he needed his medication. He said he wanted so badly to leave the hospital but now he almost wants to go back.

My husband did drugs as a teenager and I was dating him through out it even though we constantly battled about it. Everything Steven said to me I had heard before. All the rationalizing, all the excuses- I felt like I was being thrown back in time a couple decades. The saddest thing is as much as you want to just shake them it doesn’t do any good, they won’t stop until they are ready to stop. They just can’t see it. They destroy themselves because they don’t think they deserve better. According to Steven it’s St. Patrick’s day and he needs to go out and get drunk.

I talked to him about my experiences, I told him to talk to my husband that if anyone would understand it would be him. I kept trying to reach him but the more I talked the more I realized I couldn’t make him make the choices he needed to make. He was so not ready to be out of the hospital yet. He took our phone number and I told him if changed his mind we were here for him. He hugged me and said he loved me, and I told him I loved him too and I didn’t want anything bad to happen to him.

As I drove away I just broke down and had to pull over. I’m not sure why God has placed this boy in our lives but I look at Steven and I see the depressed, distructive teenager my husband once was. There has to be a reason, I know God has a plan -my heart is just so heavy right now.

Please pray that Steven stays safe until he can make the right choices for himself.

You’re all in my prayers. What a hard situation.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women and blessed
is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and in the hour of our death. Amen.

I’ll be keeping all of you in my prayers, Rayne…It’s so heartbreaking…

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and in the hour of our death. Amen.

Thank you all for your prayers. I am very worried about Steven, please continue to pray.

Dear Lord, this child is so desperately in need of your strength and courage. Watch over Steven, Lord, day and night. Be with him as he stumbles down this path Lord. Heavenly Father, your child is falling, be there to catch him, we pray. Be there to comfort him, and guide him from this path. Touch his heart Lord, that he may know you are ever-present in his life. May he find faith in you Lord, and be free of the chains of addiction.

Lord, may you also comfort rayne and all of those who love Steven and suffer along with him. Grant them strength to bear this cross Lord, and reach out to them with your loving grace to ease their pain. May they put their worries and fears for this beloved child in your most capable hands Lord, comforted in knowing that you are watching out for him, guiding him, in your divine Will.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen

Steven called me tonight. We weren’t home because we went to do the Stations of the Cross at my sister’s cemetary and then spent some time with my mom.

I had sent him an Easter Novena Mass card from our parish and a little note saying we were praying for him and he called to thank me. He left a message saying he has been clean and sober for 4 days and that he’s trying to do the right thing.

I called him back when we got home and left a voice mail message on his cell.
Four days is a small step but at least it’s a step in the right direction. Thank you all so much for your prayers, I’m sure that they are helping him.
God Bless you all.🙂

Continued prayers for Steven! :gopray:
