I was saved, am saved, and am being saved from a sin nature and individual sins to a new life that is evidenced in the fruits of the spirit.

It is act of mercy for me to even answer you that. You are in error here to question/judge us.

I have to disagree with your conclusion on both accounts. Salvation is not primarily a man-centered act, but rather a glorious God-centered act. Why don’t you think about it for awhile. Spiritual truth has nothing to do with our God given intelligence.

Fortunately, our understanding of salvation is not meant to conform to Underdog’s understanding…But the understanding passed down to us through the Church:)

Right now I would like all people who know the Lord, who know their baptism and salvation and that it is through God, and not through anything that we do, to pray for Underdog.

I was wrong to go into this thread defending the Lord from the flesh, and to express disgust and anger and frustration at Underdog’s errors. God would not have brought him to this board if he did not wish to help him.

Only the Holy Spirit can open a person’s eyes, I cannot. I, being human, am too quick to get exasperated and to just cringe with my desire to see, “Look, Look, Look at this error.” I get very irritated with errors of thinking and with prejudices that prevent people from seeing the truth. Because of that, I cannot continue to help correct Underdog and allow him to see that Catholics are really Christians.

I don’t even want him to convert, I just want to help him see that Catholics are indeed Christians in the way that he defines a Christian.

But I can’t. I can’t help him see that, because even plain language cannot remove the certainty of his prejudiced error.

Please, pray for Underdog. This attitude must cause great difficulty for him. He must have problems in his life that are caused by this wrong thinking.

Thank you. I will just stop now, and let the more patient and loving people continue to talk to him.

Thank you for your sincere and kind posting. Also, thank you for interceding for me on my behalf. I’m glad you acknowledge divine providence too. I never said that Catholics are not Christians. I also said catholic do indeed make-up a portion of the body of Christ. When I asked the question of what are we saved from, and what are we saved for…I know Christians miss the point of salvation from a God-centered perspective. Please consider these questions as being central to your spiritual journey upwards. We all know in part, and that’s even true for those who think they have the Fullness of Truth. Don’t give up but seek the Lord for answers.

What is your primary purpose of being a Christian?

The sign of the cross is more than external, or are you asking Mary to intercede on my behalf. We already know through the Scriptures that Jesus and the Spirit intercedes on our behalf without even asking.

Do you consider that a truthful answer? Isn’t avoiding to answer a direction question in itself, hiding the truth?

Let’s ask a more simple question. Where do you live, don’t need a precise answer, something like do you live in the Pacific Northwest? Yes or no will suffice.

Here’s another question. How come I ask you where your from, what you do for a living, or if you are the former CAF user who went by the name Reformed, causes you to log? :rolleyes:

Still refuse to truthfully answer the questions. Is that scriptural?

He refused to address direct points, answered questions with questions, changed the topic at will even in threads he started, and ignored posts…anything to avoid answering direct questions. He loved to post scriptures as if his private interpretation could be seen by all. But, his arguments were weak and he misinterpreted scriptures through his private interpretations. Apologetically he was dishonest and never acknowledged truth when it was explicitly explained to him.

He loved to attack Catholicism and besmirch it at every opportunity. He refused to listen to what Catholics believe and preferred to tell us what we believe.

It doesn’t seem you got along with that Reformed guy. Maybe it’s a good thing they banned that character. I’m not sure if we have been formally introduced. My name is Underdog. The U stands for our vital union with Jesus Christ. I don’t care if you are Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, or Protestant. My mission is to point everyone to Jesus Christ, and to increase our affection for God in Christ.
