George Pell says inmates cheered when he was released

Cardinal George Pell tells the Catholic News Agency he heard a "great cheer" through the prison when the High Court handed down its decision to quash his child sex abuse convictions.

Cardinal Pell said he watched the decision being handed down on a television in his cell at Melbourne’s Barwon jail.

“I did hear a great cheer from somewhere within the jail”
